Review of Hotel Michanti, El Salvador: Positives:The location is fantastic! The hotel is just steps away from an amazing beach, making it easy to enjoy the sun and surf. I highly recommend getting up early to catch the beautiful sunrise. The outdoor decor is nice and inviting, creating a relaxed atmosphere for a chill getaway.Negatives:We arrived late at night (around 10 PM), and the staff member who showed us to our room did not provide any information about the Wi-Fi, where to refill water, or breakfast times—essential details that travelers typically need after a long flight. My husband had to step outside to gather this information on his own. When you arrive at a hotel, you expect a warm welcome and a brief orientation, but instead, the staff member simply walked us to our room, opened the door, and left.Additionally, there was construction scheduled for the following morning, which was mentioned in a message we received the night we checked in. Unfortunately, this resulted in a complete loss of Wi-Fi and electricity for the entire morning. Given the price we paid, I would consider staying elsewhere next time. I really wanted to enjoy my stay, but service is a crucial aspect of any hotel experience. If the staff had been aware of the outages, they could have at least apologized or provided us with some information during check-in.Overall, Hotel Michanti has a great location, and the breakfast was good, though a bit pricey. However, the customer service left something...
Read moreWhat a beautiful beach getaway, although very short because we only spent a night there on a Saturday, it was perfect in every sense of the word. Pablo, the owner, is outstanding providing hospitality. He picked us up from a nearby hotel and made sure to go over every detail of his place when we arrived. To our surprise he asked for our our names over the phone so his staff could write them on your room’s door. It was such a personable gesture to say the least. His staff were all welcoming providing some of the best smiles along with a cold glass of Lemonade. Even his dog Chongo who is the the most handsome husky I’ve seen makes you feel like family. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. They have a nice pool, hammock haven next to the terrace upstairs and a nice canopy bed on the lawn to relax. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The cook is exceptional!! She was by the far my favorite cook out of all the places I visited in El Salvador. I had the shrimp tacos, shrimp pizza and tipico breakfast during my staff. Every single dish was delicious! The beach was a short 2 minute walk and gave us a sunset to die for. El Zonte was beautiful and Michanti definitely provided a great experience. Thank you...
Read moreWe booked the economical twin room, and got a great experience. The common area with the pool and the restaurant was the best part, as it is very pretty. Employees were also very nice to us.
The room was very decent for the price, with private bathroom and AC (absolutely a necessity). Also gives you access to a common kitchen. Only issue was insonorisation which was really bad between rooms, so hope your neighbors are on same schedule than you. Parking was plentiful and never a problem.
Note that if you are looking for partying, this hotel and El Zonte in general might not be the best choice. First because they supposedly close the gates at 9pm (you should be able to come back later still), and because in general El Zonte become very quiet after sundown. You will still find restaurants and tiendas very close by, but after 9 the town is pretty much sleeping. Maybe it was because we were there during the week at low season, but El Tunco seems a better choice if you are looking for nightlife. As for us, we enjoyed the calm...
