Review of Hotel Michanti, El Salvador: Positives:The location is fantastic! The hotel is just steps away from an amazing beach, making it easy to enjoy the sun and surf. I highly recommend getting up early to catch the beautiful sunrise. The outdoor decor is nice and inviting, creating a relaxed atmosphere for a chill getaway.Negatives:We arrived late at night (around 10 PM), and the staff member who showed us to our room did not provide any information about the Wi-Fi, where to refill water, or breakfast times—essential details that travelers typically need after a long flight. My husband had to step outside to gather this information on his own. When you arrive at a hotel, you expect a warm welcome and a brief orientation, but instead, the staff member simply walked us to our room, opened the door, and left.Additionally, there was construction scheduled for the following morning, which was mentioned in a message we received the night we checked in. Unfortunately, this resulted in a complete loss of Wi-Fi and electricity for the entire morning. Given the price we paid, I would consider staying elsewhere next time. I really wanted to enjoy my stay, but service is a crucial aspect of any hotel experience. If the staff had been aware of the outages, they could have at least apologized or provided us with some information during check-in.Overall, Hotel Michanti has a great location, and the breakfast was good, though a bit pricey. However, the customer service left something...

What a beautiful beach getaway, although very short because we only spent a night there on a Saturday, it was perfect in every sense of the word. Pablo, the owner, is outstanding providing hospitality. He picked us up from a nearby hotel and made sure to go over every detail of his place when we arrived. To our surprise he asked for our our names over the phone so his staff could write them on your room’s door. It was such a personable gesture to say the least. His staff were all welcoming providing some of the best smiles along with a cold glass of Lemonade. Even his dog Chongo who is the the most handsome husky I’ve seen makes you feel like family. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. They have a nice pool, hammock haven next to the terrace upstairs and a nice canopy bed on the lawn to relax. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The cook is exceptional!! She was by the far my favorite cook out of all the places I visited in El Salvador. I had the shrimp tacos, shrimp pizza and tipico breakfast during my staff. Every single dish was delicious! The beach was a short 2 minute walk and gave us a sunset to die for. El Zonte was beautiful and Michanti definitely provided a great experience. Thank you...

We booked the economical twin room, and got a great experience. The common area with the pool and the restaurant was the best part, as it is very pretty. Employees were also very nice to us.

The room was very decent for the price, with private bathroom and AC (absolutely a necessity). Also gives you access to a common kitchen. Only issue was insonorisation which was really bad between rooms, so hope your neighbors are on same schedule than you. Parking was plentiful and never a problem.

Note that if you are looking for partying, this hotel and El Zonte in general might not be the best choice. First because they supposedly close the gates at 9pm (you should be able to come back later still), and because in general El Zonte become very quiet after sundown. You will still find restaurants and tiendas very close by, but after 9 the town is pretty much sleeping. Maybe it was because we were there during the week at low season, but El Tunco seems a better choice if you are looking for nightlife. As for us, we enjoyed the calm...

Everything was nice during my stay, especially the staff, the pool, and the yoga classes a few days each week. The location was just far enough from the beach to have a nice stroll and pass some good restaurants. There is also a convenience store just outside the gates of the hotel. My stay included breakfast, which was delicious. The food is kind of pricey otherwise, but there are plenty of other options in town. The room I stayed in had a slight musty odor-I would have preferred to have some windows to open instead of relying on the mini-split for cooling. Also, there could be more on the patio playlist than Jack Johnson! The fresh drinking water was nice to have, and having a hot shower in El Salvador is not a given, so extra points for that. I really enjoyed my stay.

Fantastic rooms with a lovely, comfortable bed and quality linen. The AC works well, and the bathroom is decent, with good hot water and okay water pressure—though the toilet flush could be stronger. The pool is great and cleaned every morning. There's a rooftop space above the rooms perfect for yoga or just relaxing. The staff are wonderful—always smiling and genuinely friendly. The area is still developing, so there aren’t many restaurants or bars nearby yet, but with new hotels going up, more options are likely coming soon. The beach isn’t sandy; it’s more of a surf beach than a lounging one. The bar and restaurant on-site are a bit pricey for my taste, but overall I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back.

We stayed at Hotel Michanti for one night before heading to Boca Olas in El Tunco. The staff was friendly, breakfast was tasty, and the pool was nice to lounge beside. The rooms were very basic - we had AC which was nice, but hot water was non-existent. As in, there was only one knob in the shower. Mosquitoes tore me up as soon as we got out of the Uber and seemed to be clustered outside the door of our room but also on the walkway leading to reception. Had we been booked for more than one night, I would’ve been annoyed. For those looking for basic accommodation, it gets the job done, but personally I prefer a bit more comfort.
