Olor de Mar Pacífico — Restaurant in Municipio de Chiltiupan

One of my worst restaurant experiences ever. The hotel I was staying at recommended this place but I will tell them to stop doing so. When I first walked up two aggressive dogs ran out the driveway and started circling me and barking. A man called them off and directed me a few yards further towards the restaurant.

The restaurant itself looked nice and had a view of the ocean. I ordered the martini de coco which was good, and the shrimp fried in mustard and a kiwi smoothie. The shrimp was well presented but overcooked and the risotto was not good. The smoothie had a fly floating in it (I flicked it out- I understand it happens in open air restaurants but the waiter should have looked before putting it down), it didn't taste like kiwi at all.

I ordered a bottled water and a flan. The water was brought over the water shortly, and I asked if the flan was coming. The waiter said he didn't speak much English so he would ask someone to come over. No one did. I was tired and annoyed so I asked for the check and the waiter asked for my ID with it, which was odd since I hadn't been asked for my ID in El Salvador since I had arrived. He took my ID and credit card and took a very long time to come back even though there were only two other parties, and other staff just standing around. I didn't bother tip, and that's something I always do. If the service isn't good the food should be at least and it wasn't. You are better off...

Dining at Ola de Mar Pacífico was such a memorable experience! From the warm welcome to the incredible service, everything was perfect. Blanca and Tatiana were so attentive and kind, making sure every detail of our meal was just right. Jonathan at the bar also went above and beyond to craft amazing drinks that perfectly complemented the meal.

The food was absolutely delicious—every bite was a treat. What truly set this experience apart, though, was the lively and fun atmosphere. The staff played music for us while we waited, and we even had the chance to dance, which added such a joyful and unique touch to the evening.

The level of care and hospitality we received was unmatched. It’s clear that the team here takes pride in creating a fantastic experience for their guests.

Our party of 9 had the pleasure of dining at Ola de Mar Pacífico, and we were absolutely blown away by the outstanding service and incredible food. A huge shoutout to Blanca and Tatiana, our wonderful servers, and Jonathan at the bar—they truly went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable.

From start to finish, the staff was patient, attentive, and genuinely happy to serve us, which is no small feat with a large group like ours. The food was absolutely on point, and every dish exceeded our expectations.
