The family that runs this place is very welcoming and helpful, they even converted some of our Guatemalan cash for us before our bus as we were in a hurry and saved us a lot of hassle!! We stayed in a spacious tent that you can fully stand up in. The place is out of town and a lot of taxis don’t know it so make sure you have the maps ready to show them, but being out of the main strip was quite nice and got a lot more of a local experience than if we stayed in el tunco. Still could Uber or bike there for $3 or 10 minute drive. Ended up extending our stay 3 times and apparently the owner just bought the property across the street so there will be more rooms and tents soon!! Read moreThe owners are lovely people. That’s the reason why I feel bad to write something negative about the hostel. The place unfortunately, was very uncomfortable. I stayed in one of the tents for 2 nights where I initially booked for 6 nights. I left early because they didn’t have any mosquito nets in there, and after a night I was fully bitten. Also they’re a lot of animals walking around to a point where it very felt unhygienic. Laying in bed I was constantly smelling catpee and when I woke up in the morning there was a cat sitting on my bed because the’re holes everywhere in the tent.
