I stayed for one night at this 'hotel'. That was more than enough.||||The hotel supposedly had no record of my Hotels.com booking, which had been paid for.||||The internet never worked. Staff promised it would be fixed and provided numerous excuses. The tv had one English-speaking channel: Al Jazeera. The manager/owner 'fixed' it...for a matter of minutes. The in-room refrigerator was not plugged in...because there was no electrical outlet. The manager/owner indicated he would "look at it." The shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower had nothing in them.||||The room had curtains that did little to darken the room. Although the hotel is supposedly new, there were stains on the carpet and dirt on the walls. The toilet, whose seat was broken, was IN the shower area (as were exposed electrical wires). To use it I needed to sit with my legs spread due to the nearness of the shower glass wall. || ||When I indicated I intended to leave, staff debated with me, asking why. They continued to assure me the internet, tv, etc, would work. This process lasted about ten minutes. I was required to pay as without internet, I was unable to prove I had paid (Rookie mistake!). I have provided Hotels.com with a copy of the receipt, which somehow took the hotel 30+ minutes to produce, and they are currently looking into the issue.||||Here I note that prior to my posting of this review, all reviews gave the hotel a top rating. I question whether the reviews have been posted by actual customers.||||As a final note, I was awakened in the morning by a woman loudly arguing with staff about issues she had encountered. When I was waiting for my receipt, two other women were complaining about the hotel's questionable practices, with one pleading; "Look, I just want to leave..."||||So it...
Read moreThey do airport pick up and delivery with a few days stay. Being off of the main streets gave us a feel of how the locals live and yet minutes of all of the sites. The rooms vary in sizes yet every room is clean and with a refrigerator. Let the staff get to know you and they will bend over backwards to make sure of your every comfort. The breakfasts are fabulous with traditional dishes as well as for the European taste. Addis Ababa is the center of every direction in Ethiopia so after visiting the South, this is a perfect, inexpensive place to regroup. We stayed here 3 different times for 6 or more days and ate dinner here every night. We knew that the food was good, clean and safe to enjoy with a beer. We had some booking problems and they stepped in to make sure that we were okay. One was our return trip to the US from Khartoum and the Hugh problem we had getting our transit visa and the overnight bus ticket while we were in the North. We appreciated all the personal attention that they gave to us.||The Big bonus of this hotel is Isreal, the owner of East Africa Eco Tours. Do take his tours. We had Fish as our guide in Omo to visit all the tribes and rented the car and driver to the North. At the end of this trip we had over paid and Isreal worked out a way to reimburse us after we returned to the US. We cannot say enough for such honesty.||You will be in good hands with this combination to insure a fabulous,...
Read moreThe room was clean, tidy and neat. It had a large window which meant plenty of daylight. The double bed was very comfortable and clean, I loved that. The bathroom was fair size for me too. ||||All the staff were friendly especially the ladies on the reception which gave good advice and guidance to the driver I was using to see the city. The food was delicious-compliments to the chef. The home made tomatoe soup especially which I had nearly every day...The waitresess too were fabulous, helpful and always served with a smile :)||||Just like to add, that if you do get a chance to visit Addis Ababa, check out the seasons before you travel. I travelled during the rainy season and although I managed to get around and see things and learn a heck of a lot...Beware of the thunderstorms, thunder and lighting etc, etc....You don't want to get caught out. Raincoat, Mac is defo advisable.||||Also if you have never been to this part of the world...power cuts can and do happen. No point in losing your rag with staff. This is Africa after all and it is better to know that and not travel with to many expectations..which people...
