I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. From arriving to leaving, it just oozes SERVICE. The Spanish gentleman in Reception was as good an ambassador for his hotel as an I have ever seen. Whatever they pay this gentleman, he is worth more. You cannot buy or train staff to improve on what he does naturally.||||The Room was spacious, with free wi-fi (fast), a small minibar with free soft drinks, chocolate bar and potatoe crisps. (chips.) There was a good amount of furniture in the room, without crowding it. The was a modern flat-screen TV, with plenty of choice on channels and nationality. Another nice touch was an iron and mini-ironing board in each room. There is also free use of a sauna. All-in-all, a very pleasnt ambience.||||There was a bathroom with modern decor and "tools." The shower was a walk-in, and spacious enough. The water-jets were very good, and the hot water was plentiful, quick to get to temperature and pleasant. ||||Breakfast was very good, with choice and quality. (They even had sachets of hot chocolate drinks available to all, which is a bonus for those of us that do not like tea or coffee.) ||||The hotel did not appear to have a restaurant for the evening, but there is a large supermarket across the road, and a fair selection of hotels within easy walking distance. Also within easy walking distance is the Lohja Bus Station. I caught the bus to the airport, and it cost only €11.50.||||I would stay here again without question. You would need to be going to Lohja to stay here though, as it is not on the...
Read moreI stayed a few times in the suite in the autumn 2015. Clearly, it's the best hotel in the town - and of course in the whole of the region. Then again, it's not cheap either. The suite is nice with its own sauna and complimentary minibar products. They haven't done any electrical renovations in a while... these days many more wall sockets are needed for laptos, phones etc. The bed is nice and very soft. In the room I can't think of any ideas for (inexpensive) make overs, instead one small thing: replacing the 90's towels with new ones.||||The breakfast is quite OK, although the bread seems not to be even yesterday's bread but clearly bougt a few days back. In rye bread (the most popular in Finland) you can clearly notice this. Surely this all depends on when you're visiting. If I can give ideas for the breakfast room, it's only this one: at very early morning hours, some less light is sufficient, do not put on all of the very powerfull ceiling lights - they are just too much. And that kind of ceiling lights are just not used anymore in other places but factories. ;-)||||I do like the hotel and all this good being said, I can also say I've spent less money staying in the capital's top end hotels (Hilton for example). So yes, this is the best place in the region but it still should be carefull in...
Read moreWhat to say, the first consideration is about where you are. Lohja is a nice, yet small town in Finnish province, so it is clear that you cannot expect a 5 stars hotel, there.||Yet, decoration is 30 years old, breakfast is relatively basic, information you can get at the reception are only namely correct (two dinners out of two they suggested a restaurant that should have been still open, in both times was closed, and we are talking about walking at -20°C!).||Not to tell about heating: the air in the room was so dry, that putting a towel soaked at nigth, you will find it perfectly dry in the morning, 6 hours later! Your throat thanks......||To be honest, even from a small, simple hotel you could expect something better.||And price is not exactly cheap (130 EUR/BB/night), even considering Finnish price level.||The real question is: is there anything better...
