Nearly a nice place to stay!

First of all when checking in I was ignored by the person working there for several minutes before being acknowledged and checked in. Then she gave me the wrong information about what time breakfast finished at, she said 11 but it actually finished at 10. We arrived just after 10 and luckily the lady that was beginning to clear everything away allowed us to grab some food. If we'd been any later we would have missed it altogether. It was the second lady that made it a 3 star review for service rather than a 2.

The first impression of the room is great, very nicely decorated, pretty big with a kitchen area too.

After that things are not so good.

First of all there was a half empty glass of water on the kitchen counter, one of the ones from the bathroom it turned out.

The shelves in the fridge were dirty, the glasses in the cupboard were dirty, the cutlery wasn't clean. There was nothing provided to wash anything ourselves.

The bed linen was stained (hopefully it was just stained and not dirty!)

The bathroom door had two different colours of hair on it and white splatters, the shower was covered in water marks, there was makeup on the electric plug cover in the bathroom also.

It's located next to a surprisingly busy road and was extremely loud with both traffic and people until quite late at night.

Overall it was a very...

Hotel's location was very nice. There were very good restaurants a walking distance away, as well as a grocery store and a mall. Staff was also very friendly and willing to help. Breakfast was nice. Sadly, the room let in incredible amount of noise. We could hear (and woke up to!) the neighbours leaving their rooms or talking in the hallway. I slept very badly for two nights due to the noise (which was the worst before midnight and past 5am, constant door slamming, staircase walking and people talking). The room was very cold upon arrival! We didnt sleep almost at all the first night. After getting a second duvet and learning to operate the AC that had built in heating, it was much better. Breakfast was nice, but the vegetable options were very sad, often very overripe. They did have a very fresh bread every day, which was amazing. Bathroom also had this weird sweaty smell and very still air. The kitchen also comes completely unequipped, you wont be able to cook anything but boil water and make...

The Hotel is very easy to find and situated overlooking the river so the view is excellent, during my visit it was a river of snow. The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke very good English which i appreciated as i don't speak the Finnish language. There is an elevator from the lobby floor but as i my room was on floor 2 i chose to take the stairs. The room was a good size for a standard with a double bed (two singles pushed together) a chair to sit in, storage space (wardrobe) and a unit with the TV on, very clean and tidy. The bathroom was bright and also very clean and tidy. lots of channels on the TV from both the Finnish and Swedish TV companies and with no voice overs so the English programs had subtitles, again, excellent, (yes i know that's not down to the hotel but i still appreciate it).||The lobby/reception was also very clean, quiet and welcoming, as was the dining/breakfast area. A good choice for breakfast too.||The only thing i could request would be a kettle/nesspresso...

We arrived quite late and the staff were very accommodating (even taking us to our room). Information was clear about breakfast, check out, and local transport. The room itself was lovely - comfortable bed, warm shower; they even had bathroom products by Rituals which felt very fancy. It was reasonably priced and perfect for our stop over. Lastly, the breakfast was good - a fair few vegetarian options in the buffet but only salad and bread for the vegans (perhaps this could be improved but it didn't affect us), and the coffee cups are very very cute which brings a smile for the morning. Check out was easy. I can't comment on the sauna because it was closed when we arrived and we left too early to go.

Our stay at Hotel Olof in Tornio, Finland, was truly special. From the moment we walked in, we felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere — friendly staff, stylish interior, and a perfect central location made our trip comfortable and easy. We enjoyed peaceful walks along the riverfront, delicious breakfasts with aromatic coffee and cozy evenings in the warmth of our room. Everything was thoughtfully arranged to make us feel at home. This vacation left only pleasant memories and a strong wish to come back again. Best regards from Norway🇳🇴

We had a fantastic time at the Hotel Olof where the staff were super friendly and so helpful. We felt very well looked after. Also the hotel must have the best view in town of the river Tornionjoki. We luckily got to watch summer arrive when the river unfroze before our eyes! Oh, and the breakfast was amazing!! Definitely recommended 🤩
