Park Hotel Tornio — Hotel in Kemi-Tornio sub-region

Pleasant stay at the Park Hotel in the city of Tornio. Ample parkingspace always a plus. A nice and well equipped suite - with a balcony. Always a plus in the summer. Two restaurants in the hotel building. We only got to dine in one of them. A bit early to close the dining places at 22.00 in the tourist period, but we nonetheless managed to get a nice meal both evenings at the Aino restaurant. |The hotel also has a relax section om the basement floor - with saunas (of course) and a swimming pool. Looked nice, although we didn’t get to test the facilities. Cudos to the employees also. Communication in English or Swedish/Norwegians.|The biggest, and almost only let down, was the breakfast. The first morning I was pleased, with a sort of English breakfast with toast, tomato beans, bacon and scrambled eggs. No fried eggs, though… The next morning however, the tomato beans and the toast was missing. I asked for the toast bread, but the reply was that the bread was frozen. And the third morning also the bacon was gone. Not much else to eat instead either. But the croissants were good and so was the coffee. ||All in all a nice stay in Tornio, and a hotell we can recommend. But the breakfast is important, especially when you stay for three nights. Stayed here with a tour group over the Christmas period. Nice hotel, updated bathroom with heated floor etc.VERY friendly and helpful staff at the front desk - even to the point of teaching me a few Finnish words each day, to try out on our tour guide. Buffet breakfasts are good value with lots of choices. Sauna and pool all clean, modern and tidy. Easy walk to the shops - and even across the border into Sweden! The area around the hotel seemed okay, but with all the snow about, I can't say anything about the lake/river and park lands. There is a K-Supermarket within a two minute walk from the hotel. As for my room, I had a single supplement room with a large bed. Nice, modern decor with plenty of space, fairly fast wi-fi and a good sized TV. I did not hear any noise from other rooms at all. Shower was hot enough (pre-selected temp control). One elevator - only an issue when a group of folks were checking in at the same time with luggage etc. For the smokers - outside at the front doors. Hotellissa on erit. ystävällinen palvelu ja sinun toiveesi täytetään jos ne pystytään täyttämään. Hintataso hotellissa minusta laatuun, palveluun ja talon puitteisiin nähden kokolailla tasapainossa. Tornion kaupunki kaipaisi kuitenkin järjestyssääntöjä samoin kuin ILM. muukin Suomi, koska meteli (lähinnä eri moottoriajoneuvojen) kesällä on hirveä perjantai illasta aina aamuyöhön asti. Halusimme tarkoituksella kokea meille varatun huoneen mukavuuden (vaikka olivat valmiit sitä muuttamaan, siitä iso plussa) ja sen, että miten sivustojen lupaukset pitävät, koska hotellille annettiin neljän tähden luokitus. Sisäpihan huoneet ovat hotellissa rauhallisempia ja niissä mukavuus kasvaa, mutta niitä ei riitä kaikille ja autopaikkoja on myös rajoitetusti. 🏨 Hotelli kärsii pieneltä osin sijainnistaan. Yleisesti hotellille en antaisi neljää tähteä, mutta jotkin asiat hotellissa olivat eritt. miellyttävä kokemus kuten puhtaustaso !!!!! uima-allas osasto ja pieni suppea, mutta viihtyisä kuntosali. Itse tykästyin juoksumattoon ja käytin sitä aivan hävettävän paljon ja surin hotellille siitä koituvaa lisää sähkölaskuun 😩. Saunaa ja uima-allasta en käyttänyt, ne siinä lähellä jotka sitä käytti valittivat hieman viileähköstä veden lämpötilasta, kuitenkin se osa hotellista hyvin viihtyisä samoin kuin näkymä aamiaissalista hotellin yhdelle sivustalle. Hotellissa oli riittävä aamiainen joka ainakin tuona aamuna oli keskivertoa hotelliaamiaista monipuolisempi ja se ilm. varmistaa ihmisten tyytyväisyyden. Lähellä hotellia sijaitsee myös laatu-oluen panimo jonka yhteydessä on tehtaan myymälä. Mielestäni kolme tähteä ja puolikas tähti niiden päälle on kuitenkin lähempänä totuutta kokonaisuutena Parkista kuin neljä tähteä. Joten Agodan sivuston kautta varattu huone ei pitänyt täysin lupauksiaan (tosin hinta edullinen) enkä usko, että bookingin yhtään paremmin. Kokemus ei kuitenkaan ollut pettymys ja ehkä joskus uudestaan, sinäkään et pety jos vierailet...
