Motel Willis West — Hotel in Koillismaa sub-region

I was birding in the Kuusamo area and, because of good mentions, I chose this place to stay for a couple of nights. The lady proprietor was very welcoming and, because I was on my own, reduced the room rate for me. The room(s) were well appointed and had the benefit of underfloor heating making it very cosy despite the cold Summer weather. Free wi-fi was another bonus. Be warned, however, that if you arrive after 9pm you will have to phone a number for attention (this is not uncommon in Finland).||The other thing to mention is that, if you visit Ruka in the Summer, there is hardly anywhere to eat in the evenings. After a considerable search, I was fortunate to find Ruka Tonttu open and they served me food despite it being 9 pm.||As a place, Ruka in the Summer is not that appealing but, if you do need to stay, this accommodation, in terms and facilities and economy, certainly...

We booked the room for 50€/2person for one night. The inventary was very good once, now, after years of use, there are many signs of use everywhere. In general, it was all clean an the bathroom had a well working shower with a good waterpressure. In the room was a fridge, a microwave, toaster and a stove with 2 plates. You can also find some kitchen stuff in the kitchen cupboard. Together with the supermarket around the corner a perfect combination. Unfortunately, the windows can't be open, except the one in the bath, so the night (August) was pretty hot. For winter guest might be nice to know, that there is a floor heating.

All in all, we had a "good" stay, especially for the price, and...

We stayed at this motel together with my family (two adults and a child) in the New Year vacations. It is a small, very cozy motel, it is located close to the ski slopes (no more than 5 minutes by car). Convenient stop for those who traveling by car. Rooms are comfortable, though small, but it have all the necessities for life. Meals can be prepared in the room. The hosts are very friendly. Not far from the motel there are supermarkets and cafes. The motel has a sauna. Convenient parking in the courtyard, right next to the room. We were very pleased with our stay at this motel:) The only one small thing ... sauna...
