Full disclosure: I’ve read some of the other reviews complaining about the high price, when I stayed here I paid a discounted rate so I can’t comment on the normal rates. But what I paid was more than fair. ||My brother and I traveled to Kokkola from the US, to compete in a strongman competition. My wife and my brother’s girlfriend accompanied us, so we had two hotel rooms.||We arrived to Kokkola very late, after 2 AM, but the hotel staff were very accommodating and gave us detailed instructions how to check in and get our room keys, since the hotel was not staffed that late.||The rooms were simple but clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was included and I thought it was very good, and there was a lot of food. There were a lot of gluten free and dairy free options as well, which was nice for me. The staff were all very friendly, especially Sari the hotel manager. Read moreThis hotel was a unique experience in many ways... Right in the middle of the city it has a great location, but that's about all great there is in it. The interiors are a messy mix of old and unexpected stuff like wall maps that are decades old and an exercise cycle in the room (I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but I have to admit that it was mildly interesting as well). Everything was a bit worn out and the shower door was leaking plenty of water outside it....
Read moreI spent one night at the hotel. I booked directly at the hotel's web site. I was given a "family room", but when I checked in I was upgraded to a very comfy business room. The hotel is in the standard of Finnish hotels: clean and functional, but no frills. The personnel was extremely friendly.
