Aurora Reindeer — Hotel in Northern Lapland

Wonderful reindeer farm where we get to experience reindeer sledding and feeding them lichen. For the 2 hours experience, Erik was a lovely host and let us go up close to interact with and feed the cute reindeers. He also shared with us insights and experience on reindeer herding, and what he and the reindeers do throughout the year. We were also served some coffee and tea in the lavvu.

Erik took time out of his busy day to incorporate us into the care of his reindeers. Preparing the reindeer, sleigh riding and feeding the reindeer was accompanied by interesting insights into the daily life of a reindeer herder and information on the animals themselves. Snacks, hot drinks and warm stories about his family business inside his traditional lavvu completed the experience.

Visited Aurora Reindeer with family during halloween break! Absolutely amazing place.. Emmi was extremely kind to show us around although the season had not started... the kids had so much fun meeting the reindeers, feeding them, learning about them.
