We have spent our new year vacation here with my fried. It was our first trevel to Finnland and I must say it is the best choice to go to Utsjoki Holliday Village. The transfer from Ivalo airport was in time and last apprx. 3,5 hours. The hotel owners have met us by themselves with a glass of sect and gave us all information that we needed to have about our aktivities during the next week. We have lived in a cabin (house) with our own sauna, fireplace, two bedrooms and a kitchen corner. The only thing that was uncomfortable is that they have no double beds, but it was possible to put two separate beds together. The territory consist of the restaurant were we have always had our meals, hotel building, separate cabins (houses) and a small building with all necessary equipment. The nature around is very beautiful and inspirative. The best place to see a Nothern Light. There is a salmon river direkt nearby, you can have a walk along it. The place is very silent at all, only forest with reindeer farm is not far away and also a small village with supermarket and church 5 km from there. We have got 2 friendly guides, who provided us with all equipment we need and information, also they were together with us during some activities. Always ready to help and provide some inreresting facts about the area. The food in the resraurant is on a good level, every day they have different menus, it was nice to have a tasty salmon there and reindeer meat quite oft. The Holiday Village has a family concept, you can feel it already on the first day. The owners spend time with guests with pleasure and tell very interesting stories about their culture and region. There are pretty enough possible activities you can book for every day, the best ones for us were the husky tour and reindeer safari. The dinner in a hut was also very cozy. We recommend it for family vocation as well as for couples and friends. It is an...

First off - we had a very nice, enjoyable stay at holiday village. The guides were nice, the location was great and the dinners were very tasty. We booked a full package through a travel agency with activities almost every day. We enjoyed the snow shoe hike, the sleigh ride, the sami dinner and the snowmobile self drive safari. However, 2 of the actvities didn't meet our expectations, that were based on the description of our travel agency AND the descriptions on the holdiday village Website. For those who might be thinking about booking these activities, here is what didn't fit for us: Meet the Reindeer: the description on the website is condratictionary, where it says 10minutes reindeer ride at one point it says 40 minutes a little bit further down behind "duration" (as of march 2024). Actually it was a 10 minutes walk for us, meaning that a guy walked in front of the reindeer that was pulling our sleigh and guided it around a small area. Photos from older reviews show actual rides through a forest, that was what we would have expected. That being said the rest of the farm visit was good. Husky Safari: The website says duration 4-5 hours with 2 hours husky safari. We were 9 guests and were divided into 2 tours on the husky farm. Our sleigh ride was about 30minutes long which meant 15min per person on the sleigh. We expected at a ride that would at least come close to 2 hours, especially considering the price of...

Wonderful Lapland . Just back from a five day four night stay. We had a log cabin, two bedrooms with a kitchenette, sauna and wet room. All lovely and clean with plenty of space. The food in the main restaurant was stunning, billed as Finish style the evening meals were consistently yummy, really tasty and well presented, washed down with some Laplander beer. We did two Aurora tours and saw the Northern lights both times, went snow shoeing, sledging into the village (small supermarket were you can get some souvenirs, there is also a coffee shop to that sells local gifts). We also did the day trip to the Artic Ocean, well worth it. Staff and guides couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect - we were delayed on the way out , however the guide waited 4 hours to pick us up, then a 2 hour drive up North - arrived at 0200 to find a salad and some big chunky sandwiches were waiting for us in our cabin , much needed after a day traveling. All the kit is provided and in good shape/repair, guides know the local area and further a field really well, lots of patience hunting the lights, always ready with hot juice on the cold nights, a lovely lovely time. We booked with Aurora Zone travel agency - very helpful and knew their stuff.

This hotel might be our favorite hotel we've stayed at (specifically the igloo). The igloo is secluded away from the rest of the rooms so you have more privacy and there is basically no light pollution letting you see the northern lights when they're out. Everyone at the hotel is so friendly and we learned so much about the Finnish and Sami culture while we were there. We were able to do a few different activities while we were there - husky rides, snow mobile tours, reindeer farm tours and all of them were awesome. The food at the restaurant was really good as well. Utsjoki is so much better in my opinion than towns like Inari or Ivalo, it's a small town vibe that I really appreciate and the people feel more real than in the more commercialized towns. The only "downside" to Utsjoki being a smaller town is that it takes a little more coordinating to get to the hotel than hotels closer to the airport. But the hotel was really accommodating and was able to pick us up and drop us off at the airport.

We watched the Aurora here from the warmth and comfort of our own room's window! A wooden tour next door has fantastic panoramic views of the Aurora and the bridge to Norway. The Aurora went on for several hours every night. It was a mind-blowing festival of lights! The staff was excellent, helpful, warm, and kind. Breakfast was candlelit with plant-based options and a lovely view of the frozen river Teno that borders Norway and flows into the Arctic Sea. It is a tranquil, peaceful place to watch the Aurora and is of excellent value for money.
