For a budget hotel Ville is surprisingly high end. I stayed in a single room with a private bathroom and was pleasantly taken back by how spacious the room and bathroom were, with a ton of amenities. The room had a mini fridge, microwave, electric fan, both electric kettle and coffee maker, and plates and eating utensils. Additionally they had provided dish soap! The cleanliness of the room was up to bar, I had no complaints over anything in the room. Even the general noise level was lower than I expected, considering that the hotel is located next to a busy street.||||Location is great, quite close to the city center and bus station. The walk is straightforward but there’s also a bus service with a stop right next to the hotel/restaurant. The building itself may seem low end from the outside but is decently renovated from the inside. Check-in was incredibly quick and done at the restaurant since there is no check-in office, so I might count that as a slight minus that you are obligated to arrive to the hotel during the restaurant’s open hours. There’s no elevator, so coming with heavy luggage might be an issue if you have to haul it all the way to the top floor and other end of the building. ||||Also worth noting that there’s no breakfast at this hotel, but there’s a supermarket across the street so you can buy some basic breakfast supplies to make something in your room. For my needs this was a great property and if I’ll have a need to stay in Tampere again, I’ll most likely stay at...
Read moreThe hotel has a large, free car park which it shares with a car repair business and a tool hire company. The hotel is situated on a busy main road and is about 10 to 15 walk from the town centre. There is a supermarket opposite the hotel but not much else around.||On arrival, we had to give out name at the bar, which does not open until 3pm. We were then given a card with a pin number on, which gave us access to the hotel door and our bedroom door. No ID was asked for during this process.||Our room was on the second floor and I did not see an elevator, just lots of steep steps..||The road outside became quite quiet around midnight, but at about 1am we were woken by lots of shouting coming from outside the bar below, where we had received our entry code. It was clear from all of the noise that none of the staff or the drinkers had any consideration for the paying guests above their heads.||The hotel room itself had a microwave and cutlery and most of it was very clean. The wooden tops of the bedside tables and the normal table were very stained with grease like substances and I did not want to put...
Read moreSelf-service hotel about 15 minutes walk or 7 minutes bus ride away from the city centre. There's no staff and you'll get your door code on your phone number around noon on the day of arrival, you can enter at 15:00 in the afternoon.
The room was partly refurbished, meaning the bathroom. Otherwise the furniture seemed to have been from the 90s, everything clean and tidy, mattresses on the soft side, WiFi average speed. There was some strong ventilation (AC?) running all the time which I couldn't influence. I got a kind upgrade to a twin, so the room was spacious. The hotel is located at a big street but it was mostly quiet in my room. A bus stop and supermarket were right next to it. In the same building on ground floor you'll also find a modern, well-designed vegetarian restaurant with local dishes. No breakfast available in the hotel or restaurant, so you'll need to head into the centre. Overall good value for the around 70€ per night I paid.
There's been an issue with the booking system at the time but the staff reacted nicely and everything went smooth. Enter through...
