The hotel is around a 30-minute walk to the city centre, but there are buses that can drop you off near the hotel (only a 5-minute walk to the nearest bus stop). It's in a slightly unusual location on a kind of industrial estate, but it's quiet and feels safe as you walk around. The keycode system is a little odd - we didn't know if the code for our room would also work to get in to the main building; sometimes it seemed to work, and other times it didn't. This can be quite stressful as the reception desk isn't manned 24 hours a day, so when it didn't work for us late one evening, we panicked a bit. There's no lift, so this isn't a great place for the less mobile or those with heavy bags. I would also have preferred to have a kettle in the room, so you could make hot drinks whenever you wanted without having to walk downstairs. The rooms also aren't very soundproof. The room itself was fairly basic, but the bed was comfortable, though only had one pillow per person. Overall, it's fine for a short stay, especially if you're just looking for a place to rest your head while visiting Tampere for an event. To me, it seemed more like a 2*...
Read moreWe visited Tampere for three days & so was looking for somewhere to stay that still left us some spending money, so this fitted the bill. It is, as other reviews have said, a self service hotel. The first thing to master is, how to open the security doors whilst holding two hot drinks. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms, so you need to go to the self service breakfast room (from our room, that's two coded doors to go through). At night there is no milk, so you have to settle for what is on offer from the, very efficient machine. The rooms are comfortable & furnished in Indian style, after all, it is an Indian owned hotel. There is also a coded door at front of hotel. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from town, but that saves forking out 6 Euros each way for a couple. It is situated on an industrial area, but it is quiet at night. My only concern would be in event of fire, because of the numerous security doors, but I'm sure this issue is considered by fire service during inspections. I'm undecided as to whether we'd stay here again. But if you're on a...
Read moreThe price was very low, so I was surprised by the quality of the room and service. The room and bathroom were very clean. The design isn't to my taste, but it was more original than your usual all-white hotel room. The bathroom was clean and modern, although the shower heads and soap dispensers could use a revamp. Someone mentioned the lack of towels, so I'll add that there were enough towels for two people, although I stayed alone.
Very friendly service, I was made to feel welcome. My room was cold, but I got a space heater from reception. The WiFi was fast and reliable. I also liked that there was a fridge instead of a mini bar, so I could bring my own food.
The breakfast was somewhat disappointing as there were no scrambled eggs, only boiled. Safety is a concern, because there are no room keys, only the same code for every door. It would be better to have individual codes for the rooms and then a general one for the main doors.
Overall a good experience, I will be staying...
