Lillan Hotel & Kök — Hotel in Tampere sub-region

Lillan Hotel is located in a quiet residential location and is tastefully decorated blending modern colour schemes with quality traditional furniture. The rooms are well equipped with WiFi and smart TV which enabled us to watch a little Netflix in our room in the evening. There was space to park our car in the small car park (but there’s free on street parking adjacent to the hotel).||The bathroom was lovely, with quality Rituals products and quality fixtures and fittings, but the shower situation was a little odd as there was no fixing to hold the shower head, so meant we had to sit in the tub and hold the shower with one hand while washing with the other. ||Sadly our room was quite dusty, the bed sheets whilst washed and ironed had a few stains on, and the bed itself was quite saggy. The fridge was quite noisy too.||I’m not sure we got the usual levels of service either. We weren’t given much info on check in, and when we went down to breakfast around 9.10am, there wasn’t much left. I suspect this was due to the number of guests in the restaurant for breakfast, it’s just a shame other guests such as ourselves weren’t left with much for breakfast (no porridge, a few pieces of fruit left, and some cold meat/cheeses). The staff did bring a few extra croissants and bread through, but they were quickly snapped up by other guests. Coffee was replenished frequently, was piping hot and tasted good though.||It is a lovely and relaxing hotel, and has clearly had a lot of money invested refurbishing it in recent years - it just didn’t quite live up to the marketing collateral on the website and...

I stayed solo in the deluxe double room with bath but I don't know where the deluxe in the room was. The first thing I noticed when entering my room, was a musty smell and darkness. There was a window I could open but there wasn't any central AC which would have helped. During my stay some food odors also reached my room which was very unpleasant! The room was also very dark, there weren't many light fixtures to brighten up the dark colored room.||The room didn't have any space to store your luggage/clothes so I had to keep all of my clothes in my bag during my two-night stay. Just a few coat racks was all the hotel had to offer to hang my belongings.||The bed and pillows were OK. Fortunately the hotel didn't host any evening events since the sound proofing was lacking.||The bathroom had a bathtub and oddly enough also a service door. I could hear everything said and done behind the door and I was uncomfortably conscious that people behind the door could also hear me. Not very relaxing!||The breakfast was limited and on the second morning, I didn't even eat the included breakfast since it was so disappointing.||Reception was friendly and I was offered a glass of prosecco when checking in.
