It was basically the only hotel in Uusikaupunki that was near the harbour (we had booked a seal safari for the next day), so this is why we chose this hotel. The staff was friendly and they gave us good instructions. For example after the reception is closed you can only access the hotell via a door with you room key and the elevator stops working after reception is closed. ||The room was big and clean (including the bathroom). There was a small television (I would have liked a bigger one with better picture quality) and a minibar with a pricelist. We stayed on the 4th floor (there is in total 4 floors). Breakfast was on the second floor, same as the reception, bowling room and entrance of to the hotel. The breakfast was of small scale (one or two bread alternatives with ham, cheese and vegetables like tomato, cucumber and letuce. Youghurt, cereal, sausage, scrambled eggs boiled eggs, meatballs and porridge. There was coffee and juices, and some fruit and cake/muffin. There was glutenfree bread and glutenfree cereal.).||The hotel was okay, but we got rudely awakened at night by hotel guests at 4am (they shoutet and screamed and slammed the doors, and they were drunk). So if you want a good sleep, take with you some airplugs so damp the noice (you can also easily hear normal chattering from other rooms through the air pipes).||What suprised me (and stiked me as weird) was that the hotel's name is Aquarius, but the decor in the breakfast area was of middle age (swords on the walls..and so...
Read moreI just finished a week-long business trip at Hotelli Aquarius, ending May 16, 2025, and it was a pleasant stay. The room on the fourth floor was clean, spacious, and had a beautiful sea view, which was a highlight, especially with the spring sunlight this time of year. There was no air conditioning, but the room had an opening window and a tower fan, which kept it comfortable. The bathroom was compact but clean, with all the necessary amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
The breakfast was decent, with a good variety but nothing standout, served in a medieval-themed restaurant with a unique ambiance. The hotel has a bowling alley and a lounge area with a pool table, which I didn’t use, but they looked like great options for relaxation. The reception, with its retro checkered floor and knight statue, has a quirky charm. Be aware that the reception closes early on Sundays, but they send a PIN code via email for entry, and room keys are in an envelope in a key box—a smooth process for late arrivals.
The location is excellent—right by the sea with a short walk to the town center, perfect for enjoying Uusikaupunki in May. The large, free parking lot was a big plus for convenience. The hotel is a bit dated but well-maintained and clean. I’d recommend it for business travelers or anyone looking for a comfortable stay in a...
Read moreTo be frank, the location of the hotel next to the water and to the seas gives you the expectation that this hotel is a really wonderful location. But unfortunately only the location of the hotel is. The hotel itself showing its age at nearly every corner hardly, especially at the rooms in the basement. Unluckily the showers are molded and the basement rooms are not comfortable at all. The bed wasn't clean (hairs and rest of bread or something on it). We asked for other rooms which where given without big discussions, thumps up for that. But overall, it's really time to get the hotel up to date and renovate really everything, not only the holes in the "red" carpet at the entry. The service at the restaurant and the bar depends on day and shifts. At breakfast time, every desk was covered with dirty dishes from already gone Guests, so the guests had to clean tables for them themselvesfor having free space for breakfast?! I can't recommend the...
