I have just spent 2 nights back to back at a “formula 1” and a “premiere hotel” in Besancon so the comparison is both easier and striking as they are of a similar price... But not exactly the same quality.||||I liked the premiere hotel best overall. From the outside, it reminded me of the American motels you see in movies with the doors along the outdoor corridors.||Friendly staff. The room is rather tight (about 3 metres by 5) but all you need is a comfy double bed, some cupboard for clothes , a TV, free wifi and above all, your own ensuite bathroom (the prefab plastic type with plenty of hot water and hand wash).||||Here is the price comparison between the 2 :||Premiere hotel : Double Bedroom: 32,40 euros. Breakfast: 4,90. Dog stay : 3euros||Formula 1 : “” : 29 euros. “” : 2,99. “” : 5 ||||The breakfast was plentiful but just as good at the formula 1Hotel and cheaper there too. An extra yogurt or apple compote doesn’t justify the price difference in my eyes.||For the room, the premiere hotel wins hand down, especially for the fact that you have your own bathroom. It is a shame there was a bunch of young biathlon athletes staying at the formula 1 as by early morning, none of the loos were usable. A few of them had a “piss on the seat” competition I reckon ... Still...||And the internet worked well in both hotels and the usual TV channels too.||||All in all, we would not go in formula 1 anymore. Though cheaper, I leave them to the younger folks who don’t care about extra comfort and privacy. Fron now on,It's premiere hotels or the likes...
Read moreWhat do you want from your hotel? Is it somewhere to stay while you go out and about on your holiday, or does it become the holiday for you....||||Our philosophy is the hotel is a place to sleep and wash. Everything else is about the place(s) you've travelled to see or experience. This hotel provides a comfortable and big bed for two (I'm 6' 3"), a powerful and hot shower and a TV to doze and fall asleep to. Continental breakfast is provided and there are 24 hr coffee and snacks machines. All for about £35 for both of us for the night on our way to Interlaken, Switzerland. ||||Does exactly what it says on the tin. No complaints. Highly recommended for value and...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL! Check in begins at 15:30, so we arrived and checked in at the kiosk. While we already paid online when booked, we had to pay again during check in. We got a room key, went to the room - there were people laying in the bed of our room. Reception was not present, so we called the "service number". All the guy on the other end told me, was that I should wait for 1 1/2 hour until reception staff arrives. What a bad experience. We left the place and still struggle to get our refund. It's a really bad place! We paid twice and didn't get a room, where no strange people were...
