We just stayed for one week at CGH. Luckily, we were in the main building, since I asked for the main building 6 months before we arrived. We received good service before we arrived; i.e. booking skipasses, booking ski rentals. The chalet is greatly located, very close to slopes, ski school, town centre, and bus stop. BUT on site service was very poor. Our heating system broke and I had to call receptionist 4 times for her to take an action. But she did not take any action and I had to walk down to convince her to call her manager to do something to fix the heating system before reception is closed so that we do not freeze at night. By the way, reception is open only a few hours during the day and there is only one person serving (!) the guests. Also, our check out was a disaster. CGH arranged us a shuttle but shuttle did not arrive and we were going to Geneva to catch our international flight. When I asked the same receptionist to check where the shuttle is, she said "it should be on the way". However, shuttle never arrived. I had to spend 55 minutes with the same receptionist for her to find us a solution. Finally they found us a new shuttle and we caught our flight but we had to go through a big stress. Moreover, during the 55 minutes, there was a long que behind us to check in but there was only one person again to serve (!)everyone. Also, the residence expects you take out the linens before you check out...It is like a army camp...In summary, if you are looking for a great location, it is great but do not expect...
Read morePositive points: accommodation well located in the station and well arranged for the surface||Negative points:||- Chalet Belles Pistes below the main building, to access the swimming pool a road without pavement must be crossed, not ideal with children and in winter...||- cold swimming pool and hammam, all the children go to the jacuzzi (slightly warmer), only the sauna works properly. ..||- No wifi signal in the apartment: reported 3 days in a row to reception and then in writing to receive a troubleshooting pocket wifi because "The technician can do nothing more"||- The intercom to contact the reception does not work, forced to go back to the main building each time||- Parking door does not close (but if anything happens to the car CGH is not responsible...) also reported several times before resolution...||- You spend your time coming to the reception to "complain" which is unpleasant, because no follow-up of concerns, example: "no one else is complaining", or "you did not call me back so I considered that it was settled"||friendly but probably inexperienced staff....||- Convertible sofa in the living room uncomfortable even if we do not expect exceptional bedding, we feel that the sofa has had its day....||- Day of departure: empty the bins, undo all the sheets, clean the kitchen, the fridge etc. the cleaning fee is therefore limited||In summary, better services from competitors, especially for the swimming pool/spa, and above all better consideration and follow-up of any problems (because it can happen) for...
Read moreStayed here in January in a three bedroom apartment for 8 people. Our first stay here after numerous holidays in Les Carroz and nicest place we have stayed. Very conveniently located for an easy walk into the village for restaurants and shops and located at the bottom of the 'magic carpet' that takes you up to the telecabin at the bottom of the slopes. Well appointed apartment with all that you need for self-catering, very spacious and clean. One improvement could be more furniture in the bedrooms - one bedroom had no wardrobe and none of the bedrooms have chest of drawers/shelves so with the amount of stuff you have to take for skiing you end up using the floor as a wardrobe. The swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi and steam room are a nice extra to have after a day's skiing, and were kept very clean, but it's worth noting no towels are provided. |Would have given 5 stars but we were unfortunately in the one chalet that is over the road and down a hill from the main buildings/reception. Having got dropped off at main reception it is then a slip slide down the hill in the snow with your luggage, not ideal. You also have to get dressed up to go back up the hill to use the pool facilities after a day's skiing - which you wouldn't need to do in the main building. If we stayed again we'd request one of the other chalets. |All in all we had a really nice stay and...
