UPDATED: Spa & Food 💚 Experience/Environment: I have SO MUCH to say. Get a snack because this is going to be thorough. I’ll label each topic accordingly so you can jump around as you need. CHECK IN: Check In was flawless. It was exactly what the pre arrival expectation emails stated: hotel greeters greeted you at the airport, grabbed your luggage from you, and directed you to your boat. The boat then took you directly to Westin. Once you arrive, it was super welcoming. There was a welcome committee and the guy that sang to us as he let us to the check-in office (video). Marion helped us at check in, she was so nice, so friendly, definitely a great first interaction. After check-in was completed, they gave us a quick tour so you knew the basics. Unfortunately for us, our room wasn’t ready for a while so we stopped by concierge to see what we could get into. CONCIERGE: Leilani helped us and let me start by telling you that of all the people we interacted with, she was our favorite. Everyone was so nice, but Leilani was just so fun. She showed us all the different (paid) excursions we could get into, and then all the different (free) classes the hotel offered each day. If you’re like me, I ask a lot of questions. Leilani answered all of them, and with a smile at that. Truly thankful. After we signed up for all the things since our room was still not ready, she suggested we check out the spa. We had all the time in our hands, so that’s what we did. SPA: There are bikes parked all over the resort. These are fair game for you to take and ride around. We rode over to the spa Oriane was helping a guest already but greeted us and told her she would be right with us. The spa is so pretty. I ended up getting a manicure. Lisa was my technician and she was great to talk to. I love the way she did my nails. Another cool thing about the spot is that if you’re not getting any services, for 20,000 XPF, you can utilize the spa amenities. You start in the locker room with showers where you get out of your clothes and change into a robe. In the locker room, there are dental, vanity, shaving kits for you to use. When you come out there’s a room thats air-conditioned, with a full glass window facing the water and mountain, with comfortable “beds” to lay in. A nice fresh water pool (only one on the property because every other pool is ocean water), a nice sitting area you can hang out in where there’s tea, coffee, and light trail mix as a snack, and lastly, there’s a steam room. This was a nice option for you to be in a secluded, tranquil place with very limited people. ROOM: Check out my video if you haven’t. Imagine a studio apartment. Your king-size bed is right in the middle and everything else is around you. My review is too long so I couldn’t describe but the video will show it all. There is a glass floor for you to enjoy a view of the ocean from the inside of your room. My favorite part, there is Bluetooth speakers wired to your room, inside and outside. So once you pair your phone with the Bluetooth, you can choose to play your music on the speakers that’s in the back or inside of your room, or both. Food: There were various things on the menu, they were just very limited for me. Maybe tastebuds are different but there could’ve been more flavor for sure. We got snacks from the main island because all I was eating was french fries at the restaurants. BUT the mahi mahi was a hit and the Caesar salad is a salad choice. Service: BEST past of the trip. EVERYONE IS SO NICE!! Thank you Leilani, Tee, Arthur, Remsa and M from Varavara, everyone was so nice. Then Vee, Jon, and there was one more guy at the beach that kept calling us “B&T!” — ALL so kind. This was my favorite part of the trip. These connections. I can literally spend so much time typing about how each person went above and beyond. But I will just leave it at this: I am grateful, thank you for making my birthday, such a memorable one, I will never forget my time in Bora Bora and you each hold a very special place in my heart.

My wife and I arrived at the Westin Bora Bora on 9-12-25 to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. We were greeted at Papeete Airport by Westin staff and promptly boarded onto a boat for the resort. The check-in process was efficient and we enjoyed the pool until our room was ready. Blandine from Guest Services was amazing. We met her at the dock when we arrived and she gave us a tour of the premises. She was attentive to our questions and gave us a great deal of information pertaining to the property as well as the island. Throughout our seven day stay, we saw Blandine at various locations at the Westin, she was always smiling, friendly and asking us if we needed anything. Her customer service was top notch. Our over water bungalow was more than could be expected. We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne along with some snacks provided by guest services. There were beautiful flowers throughout the room and bed. The view was breathtaking and truly a sight to see. The only area for improvement was the bathroom vanity lighting was too dim for makeup and the sliding door lock did not work consistently. The pool bar included a swim up area for drinks and food. During our weeklong stay I was very impressed by pool bar staff ,Jasmina, Alan, Teamo & Tiere for their attentiveness, personality and welcoming persona. We spent a great deal of time at the pool and enjoyed many cocktails and some pizzas and hamburgers. My only suggestion is to play music consistently for ambiance. A good music selection played throughout the day would be awesome. We had the breakfast buffet every morning at the Tipanier. Upon being seated you are able to order an omelet or fried eggs from your server before embarking onto the buffet. The buffet was decadent with pastries, breads, meats, cheeses and too many to list. Breakfast was by far our best meal every day! Throughout our stay we had dinner once at Tipanier, four times at Vara Vara and room service twice. I read a lot of reviews leading up to our trip indicating the food could be better. At the Tipanier, the Mahi Mahi was bland and too soggyt and the tenderloin had no flavor. After our first meal at the Tipanier we canceled additional reservations. Of the four nights we ate at Vara Vara they did not have short ribs on three nights. On our anniversary night the two entrees we wanted off the menu were not available( short ribs and swordfish) which was disappointing. Their ribeye steak was great also the hamburgers and pizzas. I would like to see other potato options instead French fries especially when having a nice steak dinner. I’d also recommend they dim their lights during dinner service they were too bright taking away from ambiance. We had two great servers which were Mary Vonne and Raina. Both were attentive and friendly and gave us suggestions for meals. Tevaiarii Vane also seated us twice at Vara Vara and remembered our names and where we were from. In my opinion, the food definitely needs improvement. I was expecting to have some flavorful fish options and maybe some sushi and instead had pizza and hamburgers three times. Pizza and hamburgers should not be the best options on a fine dining menu. We enjoyed using the fitness center and had wonderful massages from Lisa and Terava at the spa. Another plus was the free usage of paddle boards and kayaks along with readily available bicycle to use daily. The checkout process was great. We had our luggage picked up thirty minutes before checkout and a boat waiting to take us to the airport. In closing the Westin Bora Bora is a beautiful destination with great facilities and amazing customer

We stayed in June 2025 for 5 nights in an over-the-water bungalow booked with Marriott points. The downside in going in high season is that the property is pretty full so upgrades are hard to come by. I’m Platinum and we got “upgraded” only to a slightly better view. They did not take into account our request to not be located along the main walkway (there is constant golf cart traffic) or to be in deep enough water to dive off the deck. Rooms were all pre-assigned. The check-in is disorganized and should be improved. There are 3 desks with one supposedly for status holders but there is no process or order for when guests get invited to a desk to check in or out. So everyone is mixed together and staff has no idea who just arrived and needs a drink and a wet towel or who is checking out. Our towels were given to someone checking out by mistake, for example. Not a huge deal but silly and should be sorted out at a 5-star resort. The rooms are modern and beautiful. Generally no big concerns but you can tell some of the updates were done poorly which again I would expect to be perfect at a 5-star resort. For example, toilets are attached to the wall way too high meaning unless you’re 6’+ tall, your feet won’t be able to touch the ground. Also the round vanity/makeup mirrors are attached to the wall way too high. Again if you’re not 6’ tall (and most women using them aren’t), they’re unusable. TV also randomly turns on because I think the remote controls from adjacent bungalows catch the signal. On the upside, each room has a walk-in closet, umbrellas, a beach tote you can keep etc. They also provide nice water bottles that you can refill at various stations around the property. In terms of the property, the beach is very nice and we had no issues grabbing nice loungers right at the water. The water is super clear and calm. Great for swimming. Service at the loungers was hit and miss depending on who was working each day. Pool was pretty but kind of boring considering they have a swim-up bar. It would be very easy to play better music and louder and create a fun social atmosphere but no effort was ever made. Overall the food was the biggest disappointment. It was always the main topic of discussion among other guests. Chef seems to overcomplicate the presentation while ignoring taste. And even simple fish dishes are overcooked. The best dishes are mahi mahi burger and quinoa salad bowl (which isn’t a bowl). Breakfast buffet was decent. However, cocktails and even smoothies at restaurants were also bad especially given $25-35 cost. The best drinks were at the sunset bar. We booked a half a day snorkeling trip which was great and I highly recommend it. A trip like this is necessary to see marine life in the area because there isn’t much at the resort itself. We also went off the resort once to eat at St James restaurant in the capital. It was nice for a change of pace but pretty expensive and the food is better but not significantly enough to pay $150 for the after hours boat plus $10/pp for the taxi. The biggest miss of this resort in our opinion is the lack of atmosphere. Wine tastings are done at 11am when most don’t want to drink. Happy hour bar is nice for sunset but there was either no music or live music was canceled. And pool has no atmosphere either as mentioned. Overall, we had a nice relaxing time especially and the property is stunning with great beach and sunsets, but we would probably not come back and choose to go back to the W in the Maldives which succeeds everywhere this Westin misses.

I sadly stayed at the Westin Bora Bora for 7 days and my experience was horrific. Everyday there felt like a nightmare. Let me explain:||-Upon arrival, we waited 20 minutes for our boat ride to the hotel from the airport, while ALL of the other hotels immediately picked up their guests||-Once arriving to the resort, we were greeted by a 5 minute walk with our luggage to the check-in desk, where we waited another 30 minutes to check-in. Although we did check-in, we had to wait outside (in the heat) for 4 hours for our room to be ready because “the man in your room has not checked out.” It was from 12pm-3pm that we waited. ||-When we finally got into our room, we were exhausted and excited to nap. After 30 minutes of rest, we were called by 4 different outside companies (for our booked excursions) letting us know that the Westin had cancelled them noting that we never arrived on property. This was due to our names being entered into the system incorrectly (even though we gave them our passports upon check-in).||-We hoped that the mess had ended, however, we were very wrong. The next day we learned that the resort lacked in all of the promised services and amenities. For example, to get around the large resort (easily a mile one way of walking from restaurants to the rooms), we were offered bikes. We gladly took the bikes, only to realize that they are communal and that they do not have enough functioning bikes for even 1 bike per room. Basically, you were extremely lucky if you got a bike! ||-Another resort issue we had was with the service. They claim to be a “5-star resort,” but the service is based on the staff’s timeline. If they want to serve lunch, they will, but if they don’t want to, they won’t. It was a hit-or-miss for most experiences here. We had to beg for water at every meal. Asking for the check was a process every time due to the multiple servers that didn’t stick with their tables. ||-To make matters worse, the food was repulsive and extremely overpriced. Although we didn’t expect a high-end meal here, we definitely hoped to at least be able to digest the food served. Honestly, the only meal I enjoyed was my side of French Fries. ||-If you want to leave the resort for another restaurant or to explore the other islands, good luck! They charge you $35 USD to put you on their staff “boat” to get you there. We had a lovely dinner at La Villa Mahana (would HIGHLY recommend) and we got to ride with the entire staff on a jam packed boat taking them home from work. It reeked of body odor and was very uncomfortable. ||-Do not plan on in-room dining. Multiple times we attempted to order food to our room due to the slow service in the restaurants. We were told it was available 24/7, however, when trying to order we were told that “the chef has the weekend off.” When we asked the next day (Monday) if they would have in-room dining available, we were told that the chef was ill and there would be no room service.||-Lock up all valuables. Although we constantly used our do-not-disturb signs, housekeeping entered our room without our permission. We felt that our privacy was violated on numerous occasions. ||-For excursions, book directly through 3rd party. We made the mistake of using the concierge desk and had many issues. For example, we booked a jet ski tour of the island. We showed up and were told to get on one jet ski. Even though we paid for 2 and there were 2 extra jet skis sitting on the dock, we were forced to ride together. ||-Don’t plan on using your in-room pool. We paid extra for a room with a pool, however, they would randomly (without our permission to enter our room) drain it completely. ||||To summarize, we had a really awful experience with the Westin Bora Bora. We believe that that staff, food and overall experience were much lower than the industry standard. We truly hoped for this to be a once in a lifetime vacation for our Honeymoon, but instead it was a living nightmare. I really hope that no one else has to go through a trip like this. Please, pay the extra price to stay at a better resort in Bora Bora- it is...

This is our first time in FP and Bora Bora the last stop. It is definitely the best experience of our trip, and largely because of Westin. The service here is superb: we were taken by boat from BOB to the hotel, and greeted by Marie. She is professional and friendly, and explained everything to us in detail. We needed to schedule transportation to the main island, as well as booking the resort restaurants. Justine at concierge helped us book everything. We booked some tours ourselves, but she still called them to help schedule pickup, which was a huge relief to us since we were having communication issues with the tour operators. Then we were offered to stay in a transition room till our over the water bungalow is ready. This is great since we were hot and sweaty from the flight. We took a shower, enjoyed the aC and the lagoon view of the villa. Then we were picked up by a golf cart to our bungalow. This is the best check in process I’ve ever had, as a frequent international traveler both for business and fun. Throughout our stay, the service was consistently professional, polite and friendly. We both felt very well taken care of wherever we went. I highly appreciate the very recently renovated resort. Before coming here, I’ve stayed at some famous resort in Moorea, and I was frustrated by the lack of modern amenities (not enough outlets, no USB charging whatsoever, and slow wifi!). However, Westin has kept the classic Polynesian elements but updated with a modern design and beach villa aesthetics. The colors and the materials used are light colored wood and weaver, which is so bright and refreshing compared to the transitional dark colors. Everything is new: the bungalows, the docks, the restaurants, spas and pools. The wifi is so fast and you can get it on the boat shuttle and on the dock! There are plenty of charging points in the room. The property is huge and we used the free bikes to get around and look around. Both the motu facing and the lagoon facing views are beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained. food: I was a little concerned due to the mixed reviews on Google, but both my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised. There are 3 restaurants on location, and we tried all 3 for dinner. We are omnivores but prefer lighter healthier foods. The menus are very vegetable and seafood forward, and we loved it. Our package included breakfast, lunch and dinner, excluding alcoholic drinks and the fine dining restaurant is 5000XPF per person. We had vegetable appetizers and fish main courses at Tipanier and Varavara. Both had great Motu views at sunset. We kept getting up and taking pictures like other diners. I especially loved the green power bowl from Varavara. It was very refreshing. We did not have any alcohol during in these 2 restaurants, but iced teas and herbal infusions, which were delightful. The last night we had the set menu at Maere, their fine dining restaurant, with a surprise set menu. I’ve had my fair share of fine dining and I really liked the concept of the menu, the french technique and the care of showcasing local ingredients. We also had the wine pairing, and tried some very usual wines such as made locally and from Lebanon. They went with the courses perfectly and it was nice to chat with the sommelier and the staff. All the staff at the restaurants were again so wonderful to us. The breakfast buffet had both hot and cold dishes. I like my English style brekkie with roasted tomatoes, potatoes, vegetables and eggs. My husband loves bread, yogurt and fresh fruits. We were both happy. The omelet station was nice too. No complaints! Activities: we mostly went out during the day for snorkeling and touring, but noticed peolple using the free kayaks and other equipment. We went to the eco center before checking out and had an informative and fun time learning about the good work of saving injured turtles. We watched turtle feeding and a happy turtle practice swimming in the lagoon. I was very happy to choose this resort for our first Bora Bora trip. I hope others will...
