We had an amazing 4-night stay at Casa Orfea. Great value for a beach-focused stay in the Balagne. I cannot comprehend how this place is only rated 2 stars.
This hotel ticks all the right boxes: with its location and the hosts/owners being the best assets.
Algajola is a little gem of a beach-town. Stay here to avoid the busy and car-infested Calvi and Ile-Rousse, while still having an abundance of services and restaurants nearby (both in town, as on the huge beach). Gorgeous mountain villages Sant-Antonio and Pigna only minutes away. The hotel is located right in the heart of town, at the start of the pedestrian area. Restaurants, bars, mini-market, bakery and beach located within 10 to 300 meters.
The hosts/owners are a delightful mother&daughter team. They are born to do this, striving to give their guests the best time: welcoming, hospitable, friendly and full of recommendations. They take great pride in their hotel, and it shows: decorated with taste and clean throughout.
Other noteworthy elements: excellent breakfast served on the cozy terrace; spacious private parking available nearby; air-conditioned rooms; no...
Read moreCasa Orfea is a small idyllic hotel where you will feel welcome. Its warm-hearted hostesses, mother and daughter, are always ready to help. A delicious breakfast can be prepared according to your wishes, which is a big advantage of a small hotel. Homemade jams and pastries are really delicious. It's nice to start the day when you already have a good mood from breakfast. The location is great if you travel by car and want to make road trips in the northern part of Corsica. For example, the Road of the Artisans starts just a short drive away. The small villages located along it, such as Sant’Antonino and Pigna are an experience. Algajola village, in the center of which the hotel is located, is also an idyllic and great place to relax. Its many restaurants are open late into the evening and there is a very pleasant beach not far from the hotel. Right next door is also an ice cream bar whose artisan ice creams are heavenly. The best thing about this hotel is its friendly and warm staff. Thank you for a...
Read moreThis hotel has new ownership, who are delightful and have wonderful customer service. They were as nice, and accommodating as they could be to our bicycle touring group. Learning that Americans like more than one cup of coffee in the morning, and that protein is essential for a long day of cycling, they brought us pots of coffee and cooked many eggs for us. For which we are very appreciative! The usual French breakfast of bread and jam would sustain one for about 12 minutes of cycling, so the eggs really helped. ||||Algajola is a small town, so everything is close. The Spar market, just 100 meters away, has a good selection of groceries, beer and wine. ||||I wish the owners of the hotel the best success in...
