Château de Mazan, Best Western Premier Collection — Hotel in Carpentras

BEWARE! We booked through booking.com for this hotel for August 2020 with ‘free cancellation.’ We ended up having to cancel due to a change of travel plans and had a TERRIBLE experience from there.

After one week since we had cancelled, we had not received our refund or any contact from the property We contacted them and the told us it was ‘a transfer problem’ and they would contact their bank They did not get back to us so we had to follow up several times, eventually they said a tech was coming to their site and it would be fixed after the weekend The next week they would not respond to any emails from us (or Booking.com from my understanding) To this day this still have not responded

We eventually had to have Booking.com refund us the deposit we were owed. This was nearly 3 weeks after cancellation!!!!

A great place to stay. Very comfortable beds and pillows, nice rooms. We had a shower room and it had good running hot water - better than home. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is good, in town so you can walk around for whatever you may need. Also if you are cycling like us, there is a shed to lock your bike in (bring a lock if you need one) it is locked and on the property behind the gate, get the key from the desk. A great restaurant, the food was very good and the wait staff was wonderful. There is a nice pool out back, though I did not get to use it. Lots of space to lay out around it. A great deck, and places to sit around in the downstairs area. Also there is a lift so you can get your things upstairs to your room, though the staff ran our bags up when we arrived. I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The warm welcome we received upon arrival set a positive tone for our stay. The hotel's location is superb, and its aesthetic appeal exceeded my expectations for a four-star establishment.

However, I must admit that the restaurant was not the hotel's strongest feature. The service fell short of what one would expect from a gastronomic restaurant, and the portion sizes were disappointingly small. This aspect left me wanting more in terms of culinary enjoyment.

Despite this minor setback, I highly recommend this hotel. Its impressive location and overall beauty make it a great choice for a comfortable stay.
