We stayed at Port Jacquet this weekend. It's in a fantastic spot overlooking Saint Cast and joined to the beach and main town by a beautiful walkway along the side of the cliffs (or by road). Rooms at the front have the full view if the sea and have been recently renovated: very comfortable stay. Our first night was in a garden room, which was on the smaller side and a bit dated, but still agreeable and a bargain at 55€. We moved to a renovated family room the second night- the last room available - which for the two of us was huge and comfy and honestly I have never seen such good value in France - at 70€. The service from our first call to our check out was nothing but friendly and genuine and helpful. After having contacted the Chateau du Val nearby and having been turned off by the manner and the tone of demands for deposits and arrival, and being dissatisfied frequently by hotels in France, credit where it's due, this was a great stay! Read moreOur second visit to Hotel Port Jaquet, with friends. We chose bed and breakfast, as we wished to sample dinner in some of the many restaurants in St Cast. The day starts with an excellent breakfast. Copious amounts of cereals; breads; crêpes; cold meats; fruit; great coffee. Read moreWe stayed in this hotel as part of our six-day cycling holiday along the Brittany coast and enjoyed it most of all the hotels in which we stayed. It’s small, beautifully situated high above the bay and the marina, and offers very affordable half-board rates.||The patron gave us the warmest welcome we received anywhere in Brittany, which was a good introduction. The room was very clean, fresh and warm: it was a chilly spring and the bigger hotels had turned their heating off, making the rooms uncomfortable. At the Hotel Porte Jacquet comfort reigns,||The set dinner was extremely well cooked and generous servings of fish casserole and creme brûlée were offered. The breakfast buffet was as good as that we had in any four star hotel.||Best of all, the hotel is quiet, calme et luxe, as the French say, and very French, in the best...
