I rated Parc Des Monges 3/5 as it summarises everything altogether. However, somethings were great and other things were very poor. ||||Advantages; The location is absolutely stunning. We were situated right next to the lovely river, surrounded by huge scenic mountains and were a short drive, around 20-30mins, to Cannes beaches and Grasse. The entertainment facilities were good, the pool was incredibly spacious, they had a ping pong table, a very small park for children, held petanque competitions once a week, and held a fun pool volleyball competition for all. This coincides with the staff being great. The on campsite restaurant had two lovely men in charge, the main chef and the waiter, who were always friendly and up for a joke. The food was awesome and cheap too and we were often given free shots after dinner. We were also blessed to be greeted by the Goose and Duck who live there and were very friendly.||||Disadvantages; We slept incredibly bad. Every night there seemed to be something which disrupted our sleep, including feral cats screaming, dogs constantly barking, mopeds whizzing around at night, campsite golf buggies driving around at night, and late arrivals unpacking. Granted, some of these aspects aren't controllable by the owners, however, it is worth noting for anyone who camped like we did as it is still a factor to consider. The arrival of guests was controllable and the admission of new campers was allowed up until 12 at night, even though noise is meant to cease at 10.30pm. Unfortunately, this rule was not enforced at all. We would settle down to sleep after 10.30 each night and would be kept awake for at least another hour by noise, whether this was loud children or people unpacking loudly. The campsite would admit people staying for a single night next to us on multiple occasions, meaning we were kept up by unpacking until very late, and would be woken the next morning very early when they left. Children were also another problem on the campsite. It seemed parents came to this campsite to leave their children to their own devices, screaming in the toilet blocks, playing until late at night, and screaming children in the night. The first week we would be woken multiple times in the night to a screaming child in the tent next to us. The campsite is described as idyllic on several reviews and it is on paper. The river is beautiful, but it attracted locals who's loud music and barking dogs spoiled. The river was a hive of activity, with horses swimming in it (which we liked but others may not), kids jumping off rocks, and people letting their dogs loose which would chase the ducks (one man we shouted at as he let his dogs almost kill a duck). Although the river was lovely, we advise that anyone situated next to the river be cautious of their belongings as there is no separation between the two sides of the river, meaning the campsite is easily accessible by anyone who wishes to walk across. The other main disadvantage was the toilets. They were disgusting to say the least. Most mornings you would be greeted with poo stains and unflushed poo in the toilet as well as sparse toilet roll. Many campers bought their own toilet roll as it was often that they weren't topped up.||||Overall, this campsite was adequate. If it was rated on the staff and food alone it would be 5/5. However, many sleepless nights due to the staff not enforcing rules about noise past certain times and unhygienic toilets really did spoil...
Read moreI initially left a positive comment after booking online, looking forward to my stay and hoping to be pleasantly surprised. However, after the actual experience, I must rectify my review: • The check-in time was not clearly communicated — only “from” a certain hour, but not “until” what time. • The place is unsuitable for motorhomes: there is no proper access, no space to maneuver, and the grey water disposal area is literally in the middle of the campsite road. • Administration was absent: upon arrival, there was no available power socket because another guest was using them all. I had to park where one was free, and only after a complaint from another guest did someone from management show up — not when I asked for help directly. • Basic services are lacking: no breakfast or food options, which adds stress to the stay.
Overall, this campsite is not recommended for travelers with motorhomes. You will find much better options in Cannes, closer to the tourist attractions, with frequent public transport (every 2 minutes), unlike this one.
Read moreWe took our caravan and stayed for 2 weeks, lovely site, the pitch was fine for our 7.8m caravan with 2/3 awning and car. Electric hook up too. Toilets/ showers perfect and clean, used laundry facilities too, swimming pool refreshing and private. Bit of a walk to the nearest shops and supermarket, in the heat was a challenge, but manageable. River on one side of the campsite, nice to swim in and sunbathe. Typically for this area the mozzies are spiteful at dusk, so be prepared. The owners were superb and really helpful, we have already booked for 2025!!! Essential to book early to...
