Overall it was a fun experience - catered option - but we would probably not return soon.|It used to be excellent, hence the older reviews.||The chalet is lovely, split over 3 levels, basement is the fireplace and dining area, ground floor the living room and two bedrooms, 1st floor ensuite bedrooms and top floor a family bedroom with toilet. It’s very homely and warm. Board games are also available.||We were a group of 10 30yr olds and we had the chalet with a group of 4 elderly skiers which was NOT ideal by neither group. We ended up frustrated since day 1.||Joe is the rep helping out with everything, a great guy and very helpful. Definitely made our stay very positive. ||Arrange your transfers early enough and ensure you are familiar with all details; coach, van etc. It can be confusing||Tidiness and cleanliness was average. The hostesses were polite and sweet but there were inconsistencies with things like towels,m, toilet and bedroom cleaning, empty shampoos.||Rick is the chef a very nice guy and we liked the announcement of the dishes. The cooking though was average unlike the way it’s advertised on the website.|Certainly NOTHING to brag home about! ||Breakfast and dinner included various frozen and reheated elements that were literally inedible. And often the portions were not sufficient for young hungry skiers.||The tea served in the afternoon tea was quite poor overall; one day we had great flapjacks. All the other days the options were poor. Imagine coming back hungry after a day's skiing and the only snacks available to be defrosted fruit, cheaply-bought biscuits or inedible cakes.||Dinner, some good, like the risotto, the chicken fillet, the Asian shrimps, the curry. And quite a few bad ones like measly salad starters, runny custards, minuscule stale chocolate tarts (not in the finest restaurants do you find so small tart slices), a lamb loin with so much cinnamon that was almost inedible, and a mess of a Wellington with completely raw pastry and parts of...
Read moreWe stayed in Chalet Rostaing in 2015 and where blown away by the fabulous service and food provided by delightful ski peak staff . We returned to Vaujany in 2016 this time staying in Chalet Saskia once again experienced stunning catering and charming staff. We decided to return to Chalet Rostaing in 2017 booking in September 2016 after Ski Peak had confirmed we could have the same room we had in 2015 . Despite our names being on the Chalet schedule for said room when we arrived we found it was occupied by another guest one of a part of five who had arrived an hour before us and we had been allocated another room . We did eventually get our requested room but it was embarrassing for us and did not make for a great atmosphere between us and the other Chalet guests. The ski peak staff were once again delightful and as helpful as possible. The food was on the whole good but not a comparison with the stunning food we had experienced on the previous two holidays . Menu combinations were on occasions a little strange and some creations were simply inedible- on the previous two trips I don't recall leaving a single morsel of the delicious food . |I hope this is a temporary blip in the excellent cuisine normally offered at ski peak Chalets in Vaujany as this is the main reason for us returning three years in a row and we will look with interest at other guests comments before signing up in...
Read moreWe recently stayed in Chalet Rostaing and I have to say the experience was somewhat disappointing. A once stylish chalet is, in my opinion, now in dire need of some TLC. Upon arrival we had to switch on the water, gas, all electrical appliances and set up the terrace furniture and find the cushions too, not a good start. Whilst in the process of doing this we notice the general cleanliness was not up to an acceptable standard. Carpets were stained, floors were sticky, there was human hair (not ours) in the shower bases and the kitchen was dire! Washing up sponges that looked months old and smelt the same, the cooker was held together with masking tape and the work tops generally dirty. ||||We were the first booking of the summer season, personally i would of expected the Chalet to be immaculately clean and well presented at the start of a season. We contacted the owners and it became clear that some of the staff responsible for the Chalet had not even arrived for the season themselves. Whilst their team did all they could/ all we asked of them to make up for the poor start I am a great believer in First Impressions.||||Whilst we had a comfortable stay, Peak Adventures never really made up the ground on the poor start!||||I would not recommend...
