Bring a Dutch couple with a holiday home in the french alps, we made the (bad) decision to purchase a convertible bed via the internet at Ikea France. We opted for delivery fridaymorning between 8 and 12, and got everything confirmed. On checking friday on the Ikea site we were told that our parcel was indeed processed and on the road for delivery as agreed
However delivery never materialised. It costed us a day of waiting and not skiing!!!
When we questioned Ikea The day after where our parcel ended up we got no apology but the assurance that it would be delivered monday afternoon instead 100 % sure. The Ikea site again confirmed us on that monday at around 10:00 that the parcel was indeed “en route”, however at 14.00 hrs same site mentioned that delivery would NOT take place.
Byebye day two
When questioning the “Ikea Consumer services” ( this must have different meaning in France) we were bluntly told that they could not reach the transporter and that we had to wait till 18.00 hrs, before phoning them back. An hour later However we received an email saying that delivery was now scheduled till saturday morning next.
Experience tells us that nothing is properly organized with Ikea in France hence we keep our fingers crossed but it means that Ikea will take care of the third day of our two weeks holiday.
IKEA thank you very much!!!!!
P.S. If you ever want to buy something at Ikea and cannot carry it out yourself, FORGET IT !! And buy at...
Read moreWhenever I needed anything small for the house.. i always found myself at IKEA. The place is great as you can find everything you need (as well as things you never thought you needed) for the house. There's also almost always a wide range of prices and qualities to choose from for a certain item. The best part is that even the cheapest of the items is of a very good quality. The DIY aspect of the items at ikea also always gives me a sense of achievement whenever I buy and assemble something. It's like a lego store for adults. Only disadvantage is that you might get lost in the store so it is sometimes a good idea to look up items online and locating them before going to the store. The online store is up-to-date with the availability and location of items which is pretty helpful. The food at IKEA is also something I always come back for whether it's the meatballs, the salmon or the desserts.. you always find yourself eating gourmet quality food at a decent price. When it comes to this branch in particular, the staff are really nice and helpful. The best way to get there with public transportation is using the bus number 15 to the stop "Porte du Grésivaudan" which takes you right to the upper entrance of the store. Another nearby bus is the bus number 14 accessible from the lower entrance of the store at the...
Read moreI am an international visitor and know Ikea to have high standards around the world. We arrived at IKEA Grenoble this morning just before opening time. As the opening announcement was made, I, like a few others went straight to the ladies toilet. What a mess. Toilet paper over the floor in the main area in front of the basins, and the cubicles littered with toilet paper and stinking of urine. No one had used them before us so it means they were not cleaned at night. Shame on you staff. Then off to the IKEA family area to pick up a couple of items. Had to navigate around a trolley crammed with items from all over the store that was there, I suppose, to put things back in this department and others but again, had not been done the night before so was there first thing. Leaving the store at 10.25 am we line up to the ONE till that was open. There is a queue of 15-20 people so I leave my husband standing in line and go and browse the food items. After completing my search he is still way back in the slow moving line. Finally someone saunters in a leasurely fashion and opens the self serve tills so that people can get moving. Such a poor level of service in every area. The manager...
