La Maison Forestière — Hotel in Haguenau-Wissembourg

I had to cancel my trip and stay at La Maison Forestiere due to an unexpected emergency in which my partner had to have a brain operation. Despite fully explaining the situation to the proprietors of this establishment, they would not refund any of my nonrefundable stay and also charged a cancellation fee on top of it, despite my having cancelled weeks in advance of my stay so that they were able to get double the money for the same two days through another unsuspecting tourist. This did not happen with any other booking I made for that trip; all hoteliers were compassionate and refunded my nonrefundable visits with kind words and no complaint. Wat is dit een geweldige B&B!

De gastvrouw is heel gastvrij en zorgzaam. We werden fijn ontvangen met een duidelijke uitleg over de kamer en de gang van zaken. De smaakvol ingerichte kamer was erg ruim, licht en schoon. We hadden de beschikking over een zeer complete kitchenette. De douche en toilet zijn gescheiden, dit vonden we erg prettig. Douche was goed, bedden erg comfortabel, de ramen konden open en er was ook een mobiele airco indien nodig. Het ontbijt was erg lekker, overvloedig en alles heerlijk vers. De zelfgemaakte cake was elke dag echt een cadeautje. Voor ons ook een groot pluspunt dat het ontbijtbuffet netjes en ruim opgezet wordt in de hal, zodat je lekker rustig in je eigen kamer kunt ontbijten. De locatie is goed. Het dorpje met een gezellig park met minigolf, winkels, supermarkten, restaurants en gezellige terrasjes, alles ligt op loopafstand. Een aantal wandelroutes zijn direct vanuit het dorp te lopen, we zijn bij het office du tourisme goed geholpen aan een aantal routes in de buurt. De omgeving met al zijn heuvels, natuur, dorpjes met vakwerkhuisjes en middeleeuwse kastelen is ook prachtig. Met de auto ben je aan alle kanten in een kwartier, of hooguit een halfuur bij een mooie bezienswaardigheid. Er is meer dan genoeg te beleven.

We spent one night at the B&B and had the best time! The rooms are big and modern, but at the same time cute and cozy. The owners of the B&B are a French-German couple and they were really welcoming and nice. Also it s not far from the trainstation so even if you do not come by car you can go to Strassburg easily and explore the surroundings. Can recommend a stay to everyone!! It will be...
