Unfortunately we had a bad incident in this hotel that really bothered us for the remaining of our vacation. We stayed in B&B Hôtel PARIS Italie Porte de Choisy from 7-10 June 2019 (Room 136). We opted not to have our room cleaned as we would be spending very little time in it.
On 9 June, we got back after going around the city & decided to have a cup of coffee from hotel vending machine downstairs. This was between 8:45-9:45pm. We were seated on the sofa right in front of the TV (beside the vending machines).
Since we had to wake up early next day to catch our flight on time, we were in a hurry to go to bed. My wife accidentally left her sunglasses/shades on the sofa. We only noticed this was missing once we reached the airport the next day. We were about to board the flight & I decided to call the hotel once we reached our next destination.
After we landed, we thoroughly checked all our baggages to make sure it was missing. Once we confirmed, I gave the hotel a call. A lady picked up at B&B Hôtel PARIS Italie Porte de Choisy. I explained the situation to her & she told me it was she that cleaned the common seating area including the sofa in front of the TV & ensured me that she did not find anything there. I was a little surprised, so I asked her to check with the room cleaner if they had found anything; perhaps under the bed? She gave me an immediate reply by saying that no the cleaners did not find anything & if they did they will certainly hand it over to the front desk. The front desk took down my details & informed me that they will definitely give me a call back once they thoroughly check both these areas once again.
Since I did not hear back from them, I gave them a call back a day and a half later, 11 June. This time the lady in the reception was someone else but immediately knew about my case when I called. But it was only when I called I was updated that they could not find anything after a 2nd check. I then told her they should have CCTV in that location for sure. After a slight hesitation, she said yes. I then asked her to check the CCTV footage because I wanted to know who took the sunglass as it could only be one of the guests OR a member of staff. Immediately when I mentioned staff, her tone changed saying "there is no way our staff would take our guests belongings". So I told her if that’s the case then look into the CCTV footage and give me a call back at the earliest. I was told I will be called soon for an update.
On 14 June (2 and half days later) while seated at the airport to go back to my home country my wife was still looking very worried & sad as it was her favorite Roberto Cavalli shades (costing around 700 Euro). I called & another lady at the reception picked up this time. I could sense this receptionist had a very cold & blank response to everything. She asked me to hold. After about 20 seconds she tells me that her manager told that nothing was seen on the CCTV footage. I definitely could not buy that story -
1- There is no way the CCTV in or around the common seating area did not show anyone picking up something from that area 2- They did not say if they interrogated the lady receptionist I spoke to first (who claimed to have cleaned that area at 2am on 10 June) 3- They did not give me any details on whether they thoroughly interrogated the cleaner who cleaned room 136 after we vacated
The room is nice, the price is competitive BUT IF YOU VALUE YOUR THINGS, don’t stay here! We personally got a very cold response throughout this incident. We highly doubt it’s a staff member who took the sunglass and this bothers us till date especially with the CCTV incident.
We would unfortunately be posting this review wherever possible due to the cold response from the hotel staff and will only take this down if we are shown the CCTV footage and a through interrogation of all staff...

My boyfriend paid a 2 person room for almost 400 euro for 4 nights and what do i get? CHEAP PRISON-LIKE SERVICES!
Long story short, we paid for 3 days and at the end of our stay we choose to reserve 1 more day, so we got NEW receipt with new door ACCESS CODE for the last day.
My boyfriend left the hotel for work at 7am and i left the room at 10am. Unfortunately, i forgot to take this new receipt📃 inside the hotel room which has the new door access code on it.
It was my fault! so i asked the front desk for HELP to retrieve the new code and access my room. I ask very nicely but he responded carelessly, with a very DEGRADING VOICE tone; "well just bring your boyfriend who paid the hotel here to unlock the door". I explained that my boyfriend is at work and really can't come back to the hotel before 10pm, i won't wait 12 hours outside for a room we've paid💸 so i asked him again, and again, KINDLY for another solution which is to take the 📱PHONE call in my hand and let my boyfriend CONFIRM him all of his IDENTITY number to retrieve the new code.
He said NO again and responded ; "yes your boyfriend also don't have the paper now? so you both will be locked out then haha no no i won't take that call you go talk alone to your boyfriend" ..... I was like....okay? i feel insulted for the first time in my life! bravo for the client service👏 I was so desperate but still i face it calmly and ask politely for 10 minutes despite his degrading and inconsiderate answers! what do i get in return? NOT EVEN a small effort to cooperate and help! At least propose me another way to get back the access code! not just a "no".
So out of desperation of course... I CRY! because i don't where should I stay until night. He keep saying "no no no" without proposing any optional solution. so i cry loudly (not proud of it) and GUESS WHAT? THE GUY LOOKED SURPRISED AND FINALLY PICK THE PHONE CALL FROM MY HAND!😱 and after just 60 SECONDS of exchanging identity number with my boyfriend he HAND ME THE NEW CODE!
So it's actually possible! 😲😲 funny to see how the guy finally take the call from my hand FASTLY when i started to cry in front of the other clients!
BUT I GET IT! I SHOULD BE DESPERATE AND CRY LIKE A HYSTERICAL KID IN FRONT OF OTHER CLIENTS TO GET B&B HOTEL BASIC CLIENT SERVICE! Understood.
Well, that's the least you can do to protect your business. Hide away the angry client in front of the desk asap.
I'm studying law in university, if they said it's for "security" reason they could've been at least COOPERATIVE and not just say "no". propose solutions! don't just say no and laugh! Even if you forgot your house key your landlord will always help and if you forgot your account password there is always "forgot password" option.
I never had this kind of experience before, never cried out of desperation in public before, my weekend is RUINED thanks to B&B HOTEL Paris Italie Porte de Choisy 😍.
I won't stop sharing this bad experiences to other travelers as much as i can, until I got a peaceful recourse from the staffs.
------- bonus!
-When we first come in the heater was set up at 35 degree. so we had trouble sleeping before finding out the heater problem. -The smell inside the room is horrible, i got the same smell when visiting old houses that haven't been cleaned properly with cleaning products. -The sound isolation is bad, how can i sleep with loud construction sound on the left and a family with 3 crying kids next to my room ? -Housekeeper will pass 3 times a day just to ask if the cleaning is done, there is no "do not disturb sign" for the door. It's not pratical. I can't open the door everytime when i'm working inside. -the bed cover has suspicious 2 large wet spot on the edge after the room has...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!
I checked in at this hotel at 6 pm, which is well after their suggested check-in time, and the room wasn't even ready! The staffs told me to wait in front of the room because they did not clean the room yet, and when I walked in to the room after 10 minutes of waiting, they didn't even replace the towel! What's funnier, was that there wasn't a single phone in the room to call the reception, so I needed to walk down myself to get my towel. And don't get upset at this point, because when you ask the reception for towel, what they'll do is they're going to ask you how many people stay in the room, and they won't give any more towels than the number of people staying in the room! And they'll never be sorry for their bad services!
Be careful when you're having a breakfast too. I was having a breakfast myself, and a staff grabbed my shoulder quite violently, and asked what my room number was. As soon as I told them what my room number was, they just disappear without a word of apologies! That was such an embarrassment in front of so many people, and I do not think anyone should be treated in such way!
This is last, but the most important reason not to be a customer of this hotel. THEY TEST FIRE ALARM SYETEN WITHOUT LETTING THE PEOPLE IN THE HOTEL KNOW! Okay, obviously, since I flew from the US, I had a little bit of jet lag. I started sleeping after my horrible experience while having breakfast as mentioned earlier, and at 12pm, the fire alarm when off! I wouldn't be too upset if I was by myself, but I was with my son who has disabilities. He is 20 years old, as big as I am, and physically limited. As the alarm when off, I woke him up and gave him a piggyback ride and used the stair (because you shouldn't use the elevator in case of fire) and ran down stairs. And you know what the staffs told me? They were just testing the system. Again, without a single word of apologies.
Please, stay away...
