Chambres d'hôtes Au creux du Chambon Joyeuse Ardèche — Hotel in Largentière

We booked through booking.com but because we didn't actually stay in the end I have had to write my review here. We booked a mid week one night stay. The gps directions first took us right into the middle of the really steep small streeted town... if we had actually continued following the directions our car would have got completely stuck. So we went back down and try to arrive by the other side , these too were unclear. In total it took us an extra 40 mins to arrive. When we arrived the driveway to the house was extremely steep and extremely uneven. The only flat parking area was being used by the owner. Finally when she did come out to meet us and we raised our concerns about the directions she tried to blame it on me firstly for not reading the email properly, but after I showed her the email she sent ( with no extra instructions) she tried to blame the problem on booking.com and as I also have a property on booking.com I know this to be completely false..... in the end after so many lies we decided we didn't even want to stay another minute.. so left.||So for anyone wanting to book this accommodation do so knowing that it is totally unsuitable if you have a low or large car and extremely dangerous if there...

We stayed only two nights but wished it could have been several more. The host and hostess were very friendly and helpful. The room was delightful: spacious, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, had a comfortable bed and the best shower I have ever experienced. The room has its own furnished terrace. Breakfast was plentiful. My favourite part of the day was sitting on the terrace by the pool to watch the sky change colour as the sun set, and to listen to the frogs and birds. My wife & I spent 1 night here on a short tour through the Ardeche. The room (more like a private house) that we had was amazing! Lovingly decorated, with trinkets & souvenirs from around the world. Our hosts were warm, open and very knowledgeable, providing us with great tips for the local area. We loved relaxing in the beautiful pool and the simple breakfast provided to us the next morning was delicious with locally sourced products.
