DISAPPOINTING The facility was excellent for the price, however the customer service leaves much to be desired. The owner/director displayed a curt, impatient, patronizing and somewhat sarcastic disposition. She was argumentative, defensive and downright belligerent. She monopolized all verbal exchanges, barely allowing the customer to place a word. I booked a room for 1 day. The next day, I decided to book for 3 additional days. The receptionist mistakenly added only 2 more days, then had to correct herself, leaving me with two separate receipts and therefore 2 different room-codes for the same room. The director intimated that I should have known to use the code on the most recent receipt as if that was supposed to be common knowledge among lay people. I told her that since the receptionist omitted to indicate which of the two codes to use, logic dictated that I use the one printed on the receipt for the day of stay. But of course, the lady had to have the last word, retorting that she was sure her employee, whom she's had for 5 years, did everything she was supposed to do, that I was the one who probably forgot to take note of the info. and so on and so forth ad infinitum. I finally told her that I would leave the next morning and to reimburse me for the last two days. Which she seemed eager to do. I concluded that maybe she just did not like certain types of people in her hotel and told her so. She retorted that she was not a racist. I did not even...

Bon hôtel mais très décevant. Je me suis laissé entraîné par les avis Google positifs, je m'y suis rendu et ai réservé deux nuits, et malgré le tarif bien plus élevé (plusieurs dizaines d'euros pour deux nuits) que d'autres hôtels deux étoiles de la ville, j'étais prêt à y mettre le prix pour avoir de la qualité car besoin de repos.

En point positif, l'accueil est correct, les locaux sont récents et très propres, la chambre est petite mais tout à fait correcte et correspond bien à un deux étoiles. Les chambres sont calmes et on entend peu les voisins, ce qui n'est pas le cas partout. La situation géographique est très correcte pour quelqu'un en voiture, en moins de dix minutes on arrive au centre ville, idéal pour visiter la ville. Enfin, il y a suffisamment de places de parking à l'arrière de l'hôtel. Je n'ai pas pris de petit-déjeuner donc ne pourrai pas m'exprimer dessus.

En points négatifs, j'ai découvert la mauvaise surprise d'avoir la "salle de bain" (douche et lavabo) à même la chambre, et bien qu'on puisse utiliser un rideau pour "séparer" les deux parties de la pièce, ce n'est pas agréable. Concernant cette douche, elle est assez grande et agréable à utiliser, mais je ne comprends pas, il y a un énorme trou en plein milieu de la porte de la douche (pour pouvoir y mettre la main et ouvrir ou fermer la porte de la douche), donc qui dit trou, dit eau qui passe et on se retrouve avec une salle de bain/chambre inondée au sol en sortant d'une douche... Un plus petit trou ou des poignées auraient été tellement plus simples. Et enfin, le plus gros problème, ayant réservé en semaine, j'ai été placé du "mauvais côté" de l'hôtel, chambre côté façade. Il y a une énorme usine juste en face qui fait d'énormes bruits de rejets de vapeur toutes les 30 secondes et ce très tôt le matin, donc impossible de dormir correctement et réveil en sursaut. Ce problème est sûrement non rencontré pour les chambres à l'opposé de l'usine ou le week end si l'usine est fermée. Cas expliqué à l'accueil et bien que poli, peu de considération par rapport à ce problème.

Donc au final, ce n'est pas un mauvais hôtel. Il est très correct, c'est pour cette raison que je mets la note de 3/5 (au dessus de la moyenne), mais en aucun cas il vaut une note proche de 5/5, et je suis déçu d'avoir payé plus cher pour mieux me reposer et au final avoir été réveillé en sursaut tôt le matin et pas de possibilité de se rendormir car bruit...

Its a very clean hotel with a comfy bed and a short walk into town and to the Dockside shops. For some reason the aircon was switched off at about 7pm this happened for two consecutive nights so we left the window open and were bitten badly by mosquitos . There is an excellent restaurant just round the corner, opposite the Winston Churchill memorial garden which is in need of repair. The restaurant has been there since 1952. Excellent service and the Lamb is the best. The hotel has excellent parking facilities. there are some small super markets close by and the hotel has a microwave you can use. There is a hot and cold drinks machine avoid the coffee tasted awful. Lovely area to sit outside and chill. Excellent staff...
