We stayed here last year and loved it. We had to return again this year with a friend who could not make it with us last year as we had spoken so highly of it. When you arrive at reception you are greeted warmly by the friendly wife of the couple who manage the site. As this is a municipal site, the couple are hear each season. They keep the place clean and tidy and are always tidying up. The toilet and shower block is older, but is always clean. The washing machines and dryers are also in here, but you get the tokens at reception. You get to choose your pitch which has a water and waste empty point around every fourth pitch. The elsan empty point and motorhome service point is at the side of the toilet block. There are lodges you can rent that face the main stream that runs through the site. There are a row of static caravans on the side of the site with the small stream running behind the vans. There are now also ready pitch tents for rent this year. You can also use the local swimming pool at the weekend, which is just outside the site to the side of the football pitch. There are also tennis courts and a crazy golf are to the side of the pool. The walk to the village is about a ten minute uphill stroll. Lots of very interesting buildings around...
Read moreI absolutely loved this campsite from the moment we arrived. The lady in reception could not have been friendlier or more helpful and we were free to choose our own pitch - which always makes me happy. Lovely shaded well delineated pitches with water available, good quality facility block and a motorhome service point. There are lodges on the site as well as tourers but somehow they mingle together well. There is a stream running through the site and a couple of large grassed areas for kids to play on. We were there on a French bank holiday weekend and there were lots of family groups enjoying the extended weekend. Outside the gates is a full size football pitch with nets that is free to be used and a swimming pool and crazy golf. It is a 10 minute walk to the beautiful town centre along the road or 15 minutes through the woods. Lyons la Foret itself is really lovely with a choice of places to eat and spectacular buildings. Absolutely love this site and will definitely return. This is a municipal site and is right at the top end of its type. Most of the clientele are French which is just...
Read moreIf you want to get away from it all and spend a few days in rural France, this is the place to come to. It’s a pleasant little campsite of about 80 pitches and chalets. We stopped in a chalet, which was basic but perfectly functional. It appeared to be quite new.||||Our host was an extremely lovely lady who worked hard to make us welcome, even though she didn’t speak English. There’s a small shop selling the basics, an outdoor pool that is open at the weekend. Toilets are in short supply and you have to pay a high daily charge to get WiFi which was disappointing.||||Stop-over prices are very reasonable compared to English camping prices.||||The village Lyons La Foret is just a 10min walk away and is one of the loveliest Normandy villages. Go enjoy some peace and quiet. You can literally just watch the birds signing and the grass blowing in the wind, across the stream in the meadow beyond ......
