A wonderful stay with very friendly hosts Aude & Rob who go out of their way to make you feel at home. If you like getting to know people and the feel of being amongst friends when travelling, this is the place for you. The B&B is thoughtfully and tastefully decorated, we enjoyed exploring the surrounding grounds. We stayed in the suite which was extremely spacious and comfortable. Given a welcome bottle of bubbly on arrival. There is no air con but even in a heat wave this was not a problem, the room was a good temperature and a fan was supplied. The bed was very comfortable. Fabulous high pressure shower. Continental breakfast was lovely - particularly with flavourful homemade jams. The only downside is the location of the property if you have not rented a car. We certainly got our step count in walking to and from the town but that may not be for everyone! Some fantastic chateaus to explore nearby which are easily reached by foot. The public bus stop is nearby and the bus is very cheap but it sometimes turns up, sometimes does not in our experience. Taxi/ubers are in short supply in the area. Unless you love walking, a car is a must to stay here. Regardless, one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in and we will certainly return...
Read moreI have traveled to many countries and stayed in many B&Bs, but I can honestly say this was the most restful and pleasant stay! My friend S. (who is from France) and I stayed at this most lovely Bed and Breakfast for a week. S. had stayed there before with her daughter and family and recommended the Manoir de la Maison Blanche since we wanted to visit the castles of the Loire Valley. It was so beautiful and charming! It was nestled in a rural neighborhood just minutes away from the quaint town and castle of Amboise. It is a great central location for many attractions in the area. The accomodations were delightful and spacious; the architecture and design were well thought out and our room so tastefully decorated. The outdoor courtyards and lounging areas were surrounded by roses and fragrant bushes; the grounds and landscape were inviting! The 2 llamas and horses only added to the scenery. Annick was the perfect hostess! Her breakfasts each morning were quintessential France with a delicious spread of fruit, jams, breads, yogurt, juices and teas! We hated leaving every morning but longed to return every evening! I have fond memories of my stay and getting to know Annick. I hope to return with my children and...
Read morePart of a motorcycle road trip, we booked for 2 days and extended, because this place is so great. Beautiful buildings over looking a lovely courtyard, surrounded by stunning wooded grounds and paddocks with horses and Llamas. ||The rooms are spacious , characterful, nicely furnished including, a dining table, storage area, comfortable bed and WiFi. It is very clean. Lovely seating areas outside on the courtyard and a guest kitchen which we found really useful. Safe parking for our motorcycle within the property grounds. Breakfast was good, continental and is served in a pretty breakfast room.||Aude is French and Rob is English so there is no language barrier, both are friendly and helpful and made everyone feel welcome.|| It is a 20 minute walk into beautiful Amboise, where apart from the historic attractions, there are a good selection of restaurants and shops. However the hotel and grounds are so relaxing and attractive that we brought food in and spent one full day just picnicking and drinking wine in the courtyard, rather than go out.|| A lovely little patch of France. If time had allowed we would have...
