Chambres d'Hôtes Annie Lorcy — Hotel in Lorient

I was a little anxious about staying here as this was a home of a French women who did not speak English. This was far from what I experienced, all my anxieties fades the minute I stepped out of my car, we where greeted by Annie as soon as we arrived with a big smile and a hug and immediately you felt like long lost friends. I have never laughed so much, as we used hand signals and body language to bridge the laungage barriers and her hospitality unending. We had the whole top floor of the house with a large bedroom and a spacious bathroom down the hallway, we also had the use of the upstairs lounge with lots of tourist brochures. It is located in a very small quiet street and a ten minute drive from town so fantastic location if looking for a good sleep. The minute we stepped inside the house we felt as if we were old friends of Annie. She couldn't do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possible. She insisted that we try all her different home made jams especially the Mirabelle which was absolutely delicious. Despite the fact that we spoke very little French and Anie spoke virtually no English, this was definitely not a barrier. She had a wealth of local knowledge and was able to show us much of the local attractions. Dowside? - We could only stay for two nights and if we ever manage another trip to France, La Trinite sur Mer and Annie Lorcy's house will be a definite destination and for more than two nights. Annie was the best hostess and treated us like we owned the house and she was the servant. Even her English and our French ( which was non-existent) did no create any barriers to her wish to make us feel at home. Her generosity and hospitality was incredible and well worth it. The location was perfect for us as it provided quiet country lanes to walk around and a surprise was waiting us at the end of the lane. A most glorious place and Annie provided us with hot spots to visit in and around the area and even took time our of her day once to give a guided tour.
