During my recent visit to Montpellier, I had the pleasure of staying at Novotel Montpellier Sud, and I can confidently say it was excellent hotel stay experience. From the moment we arrived until our departure, every aspect of our stay was impeccable. Warm and Welcoming Reception Our trip began with a late arrival at the hotel. Despite the hour, the reception team was incredibly welcoming and efficient. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff’s friendly demeanor immediately set a positive tone for our stay. Read moreThe hotel itself was very good, with the pool being quite big, clean and warm, the breakfast buffet was decent though there were a few problems like bad scrambled egg quality and complex coffee machines but beyond that it was lovely. The lobby and guest facilities were all clean and nice, aswell as the room, which, despite being rather small, was not unpleasant. The toilet is in a different room to the shower and doesn't have a lock which is a bit displeasing so I would advise to consider this when booking. As for the location, as far as we discovered in our 1 night stay, it was not amazingly located, as it was 10km from the beach that we went to which seemed to be the main one in Montpellier. It was also about a 20 minute drive from a retail park with a amazing aquarium that we visited along with multiple restaurants and other food establishments, a large IKEA, Decathlon and Casino. Read moreI arrived at the hotel around 23:00, being sent there by Air France since my flight from Montpellier to Paris was canceled. It turned out that AF had made a mistake, and Novotel had not received a reservation request though I had a voucher from AF for a room, dinner etc. The late night reception staff (Sybile and Noemie) were super - and I would give them more than 5 stars if I could, especially Sybile. Her kindness and positive attitude, service (with smiles!) and efficiency in trying to find a solution to help me with an issue that was not the hotel's problem was above and beyond the call of duty. It is rare to find this - and really is a practice of the word "hospitality" that this industry is based on. People like Sybile bring value to Novotel and make these chains more personal.
