I felt compelled to write this after reading the, mainly French I think, reviews of this campsite. We stayed here last summer the night before catching the Eurostar home after three weeks touring France in our campervan. We hadn't booked ahead, so it was a question of just turning up and asking for a pitch. We couldn't get internet connection on our phones so couldn't read any reviews beforehand, although we did check out what others had thought after we returned home. If we get the good points out of the way first. The site could not be better situated. It is just the other side of the dunes, seconds walk away from an amazing beach, about twenty minutes drive from Le Touquet. The shower cubicles are plentiful and some of the most spacious we encountered in France. That is really it! ||The showers are in one central block which is closed at ten o'clock every night, possibly to keep out the gangs of roving teenagers who seem to prowl around after nightfall. If you need to use the toilet, there are about half a dozen external loos with no hand washing facilities except for the stand pipes around the site which provide drinking water. The site itself resembles little more than a car park on a bit of scrubland. The pitches are not demarcated at all and are packed in together. The other campers all seemed to have obligatory wailing children or howling dogs or, in some cases, both. We returned from a meal in the centre to find loud music pumping out of various tents and the aforementioned teenagers grouped together around the closed shower block! Luckily just after we returned the rain started and the music stopped - possibly one as the result of the other, we'll never know. To add insult to injury, this site was not even especially cheap. I did read another review which suggested that it was unsafe to stay at this site. I must admit we thought this was going too far. But we won't...

We stayed near the toilet and shower block due to having a disabled passenger. Pitch was a good size, electric hookup available. But that really ends the good points of this site.
We used this site for a day in Le Touquet and the day after an early EuroTunnel crossing at 08:50 French time. The gates for the site are not unlocked until 09:00, so we inquired about opening the gates early (as it is an hour to Calais), which we were told was not possible and were advised to stay off site at the Aire Du Camping Car on the entrance of the site. Being honest, this was probably my fault as I hadn't seen the gate opening and closing times when booking and they did their best to accommodate. I would advise not using this site for early morning Tunnel or Ferry Crossings.
The on site Toilets and Showers were very poor. They weren't very clean and all the dividers between each shower were covered in scratched in graffiti (some dated from 1996!) which probably highlights how in need of renovation they were.
The majority of toilets were located outside, with no provided toilet roll and no toilet seats and no where to wash hands
The interior toilets were locked and not to be used.
The showers weren't great, didn't warm up and looked like they hadn't been cleaned for weeks.
For 80 Euros for two nights, we felt this was very poor and not worth our...

Or if you do, take with a pinch of salt and go with an open mind! I feel they are unjustified after seeing it with my own eyes.|Perfect location almost right on the wide sandy beach. (3 minute scramble over the dunes) Walkable to at least one town (although we didn't, as we just sat in the van eating baguettes and cheese and drinking Rose :-)|Yes, the toilet block closes at 9pm to make sure you've had your showers and brushed your teeth. There are toilets available all night on the outside of the block. Just no hand washing at night so be prepared to wash in the camper or at a tap.|They take great care with security and we wore wrist bands, presumably they have people off the beach and in the local aire wandering in the use the facilities.|A chap came by at 10:45am to make sure we knew to be off by 11 so they are quite strict on that - fair enough.|Good amount of showers and sinks.
