The building is charming, however we were given an unheated room in February and the room must have been the most basic of those available. I remember seeing nice rooms online, but this one was extremely basic and a somewhat dangerous staircase led to the bedroom, so it is only for able bodied people! When we reported that the heater in the bathroom was not working we were told that they knew that and we should just open the bedroom door, so once we switch on the heating, both rooms will heat up. We wanted a double room, but only a triple was available. No significant discount was given and the owner is exceptionally unpleasant. He was unwilling to charge my boyfriend's credit card and insisted on obtaining a personal address and noting all the credit card details. Something about this just did not seem right as we wanted to pay directly and not have credit card details stored with free access. Overall, inflexible and not welcoming. Read moreWe stayed there a couple of days there during the heat wave. The place is charming and very accessible. An old mas with a lot of character and a nice garden for breakfast or to rest. We had a superior room in the courtyard, located on the ground level; very spacious, clean with a stone walls & fire place, and a large bathroom, and, thanks god, with A/C! The owner is very chatty and helpful. Amenities and service are basic but fine; we didn't mind. The only downside of the location is the fact that the closet village is 15 kms away (Aigues-Mortes or Saintes-Maries) and there is no ice machine or fridge or room service - specially after 8pm. So after a long, hot day, back in the room you don't have too much option for a cold beer or glass of rose in your room, unless you drive (2 x 15kms) and you have a cooler with you! There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, but with a different owner and atmosphere. So if you don't mind this, great place to stay at a very...
