CAMPING Le Jardin de Sully — Hotel in Orléans

Visited in December so maybe biased by weather etc. Pre booked the pitch through CAMC and was dismayed when we arrived at 1 pm to see a sign saying reception open from 4. But not to worry after a few minutes a lovely woman popped up and checked us in. We could choose our own pitch and she advised to go close to the toilet block. Pitches are level but not really hard standing. No demarcation. We booked a serviced pitch but she said the water at the pitch had been turned off. We filled our tank as we went in. Showers etc were clean and warm but unisex - which I am not comfortable with. Nothing was open and despite the maintenance team being very busy it all felt a bit shabby. Huge plus point was the proximity to the Loire and a footpath into the town. Lovely meandering for an afternoon but not enough to justify a longer stay. Its on the loire cycle path so you could travel for the cycling. It is also well placed for Dieppe, Caen, Le Havre etc and not bad for Calais. We will...

Mobile home was lovely, very new and modern (it costs 93€ for a night so you'd expect it) but that's where the positive points end.

Our home wasn't ready when we arrived even though we arrived an hour after the permitted check in time. Once inside we saw glassware and pots were dirty. Snack bar is only open for 1h30, so essentially no food on site. Very small park, one mini slide and no swings or other things for young kids to play on. The neighbours camper van is literally 1 meter away from us, we feel packed in like sardines. No blinds on the bedroom windows so putting children to bed in summer is impossible.

Lovely campsite with great facilities cleaned twice a day. Some indoor facilities as well as outdoor. Nesting sparrows provide great entertainment. Lovely pitches arranged in cul de sac of 6 placements with some shade. Nice pool. Not cold at all but the weather was very warm when we were there. Short walk over a long footbridges in to Sully sur Loire. About 15mins walk. Great bars & restaurants in Sully & pretty Chateau. We camped & then had an invasion of red ants. Reception were really helpful. Offered us insecticide if we wanted to use it but I am allergic. Also offered us a change of pitch with a choice of two. Really great site. Would...
