Our experience at Parc Beaumont Hotel / MGallery was exceptional. My visit to Pau was combined Business and Family, and both were satisfied fully. I really appreciated their emphasis to detail.
The location of the Hotel is excellent; it is a short walk away from the center of Pau while maintaining peace and quiet as well as offering a great view. This is largely due to the neighboring park with the same name, Parc Beaumont, that acts as a good buffer to more populated areas.
I can only remark on the Suite which we found to be perfect. The room was spacious, enough for the kids to feel unrestricted, with great separation and accessibility of the main room from the bathroom and (what I can only describe as) the boudoir. There was both a shower and a big bath tub and two sinks, very useful. Everything was in perfect working condition, aesthetic and sturdy. The hand gel, shower gel and conditioners provided were also exceptional and I found superbly scented. The balcony was exceptional, large and with a great view. Working there with the laptop was a delight.
The breakfast was of buffet type, with more than adequate selection, and in addition various types of eggs were prepared upon request. The restaurant had a nice selection and anything we ordered was very well prepared. I personally favored the Butcher's steak a point. The restaurant worked also as a bar. I offered there outdoors a nice business dinner with wine from their fine selection.
The personnel, ranging from the receptionists, the breakfast staff, and the cleaning staff, was very hospitable, ready to help, and of course polite.
Needless to mention that the basics were all fully covered such as fast and problem free wifi; the room had a professional grade Nespresso machine with a variety of coffee disks, ristretto, decaf and forte, that I really appreciated; many well placed and spacious closets, best grade towels of three different sizes each for different usages; a DC séchoir (professional grade hairdryer); a wall mounted flat tv screen with perfect reception to many available channels; and very prompt room service with anything from the restaurant.
Probably only for the suites, but I cannot really say, in any case, towels were replaced every day and the room was made twice a day, the last late being at the afternoon for the night.
Finally, I also enjoyed the swimming pool and that water massage pool. Both were located indoors at the minus one floor. They were accessible only via the room keycard, and directly from the elevator so no need to pass through reception or any other place of the hotel, other than the corridor of the given floor to the elevator. This offered a great sense of privacy. Very nice bathrobes were available in the room in the bathroom, with the same high quality as the towels, as well as slippers, which were better than the quality usually found at hotels.
In the fourth floor a well equipped gym was available, which sadly I had no available time to visit.
The main bed's mattress was very comfortable and the pillows of high quality, probably made from microfibers, as far as I can tell. I especially appreciated the two additional very large pillows that they offered.
The secondary bed, which was unfolded from a couch, could have had a better mattress. I did not find it thick enough to be comfortable, however I do not know that something better can be achieved with the couch solution.
Overall, the experience was great and the Parc Beaumont Hotel would be my preferred choice for my next...
Read moreWe honestly cannot recommend the Parc Beaumont and it’s staff more. This hotel is professional, luxury and above all - the staff are so very kind. When we arrived our two year old son was given a children's colouring welcome pack. A member of staff immediately pointed out the children’s play ground and park just adjacent to the hotel for our son to enjoy. We were helped to park our electric hire car in the plenty of parking spaces either within the locked under cover hotel parking with electric charging points or to simply park in the broader allocated hotel parking. We were helped to our room with our baggage. When we arrived in the room there was a substantial and inviting cot that our son was delighted to see. Every day when we returned from our busy day touring the stunning local area and region (very highly recommended) the magnificent staff had prepared our room a second time in the day - ready for bed. Every morning we got to know the incredibly kind and professional staff on each floor who were so warm and welcoming to our son. When we ate in the bar one evening the staff are clearly very proud of Pau and the local area as they provided specific and helpful tourism advice. The swimming pool is very luxurious and also safe for our son to swim with us present.
We did not regrettably recall all the names of the staff that made this holiday one of the best we can remember having. Apologies that we are not able to mention them all specifically here.
Please may we specifically mention Frantz - who went above and beyond our expectations to help us ensure we were comfortable and rested on our holiday. We told Frantz how grateful we are to him directly but would like to take this opportunity to formally write it on this review. Frantz - a huge thank you on behalf of our family.
Please may we also specifically mention Pascal and her colleagues whom we frequently encountered on floor 2. Pascal’s warm professionalism and welcoming manner was a joy to experience. We are very grateful for her local regional advice and, despite being understandably busy, her willingness to come and find us and check we are comfortable and ok and to be another very kind and familiar person for our son on what was a truly wonderful family visit to the city of Pau.
We count down the days until we can come back…
Many many thanks...
Read moreI waffled whether to give a 4 or 5 score, and settled on 4. This hotel is very nice, but it was more of a "business hotel" vibe than I prefer. Location is good, it's near a nice park, and about a 10-15 minute to the main area of Pau. Easy parking. It was a very quiet area, which is great. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great. ||Downside...It feels like a business hotel. The rooms were nice enough, but kind of sterile and generic. Like a nice Marriott or something. All wood floors. AC was terrible, couldn't get the temp in the room below 70, even at max AC on a cool night. I think they just turn off the AC. Also, they have liquid soap and shampoo bottles in the shower, and one day we ran out of shower soap, which means the maid didn't bother to check/refill it. I mean, when I'm paying 500+ Euro a night, is it reasonable to expect that I'll have working soap in the shower? That's just really terrible for a hotel at this price.||All that said, I'd stay here again. I enjoyed my visit, but I might check out Hotel Bristol next time to see how...
