Musée des Beaux-Arts de Pau — Attraction in Pau

One of the best museums I’ve ever visited in my life and I’ve visited a few in big cities. It was so well organised and so packed with gems ! The booklet in English they prepared was fantastic and it was a good guide to walk you through the museum. I spent 3 hours there and I would’ve spent more! The team was friendly and hospitable and the best thing, museum is free. Incredible! They could charge 10 euros and I’d still pay to go in. It was a hot afternoon in Pau and I came in not quite sure what to expect. What a treat! Free for starters. Quiet (such a contrast to the galleries in London). Amazing permanent exhibition and - a total treat - seeing the work of one of the masters of photography, Robert Doisneau (a special exhibition).
