Hôtel la Chaumette — Hotel in Privas

We have been there because we were in the area for a wedding. |First I made a reservation only for Saturday and called the week before, if it would be possible to have another night and it seemed no problem.|Well, we arrived. They didn't found my name first (yes it is German and complex, but) then had no reservation for Friday. Then the room for Saturday was supposed to be a 3 bedroom one, which I never reserved. They were really rude and just got nicer when they realized that I spoke French and my boyfriend is actually French. |Finally we've got a double room which was really not prepared for new arrivals. We found still empty bottles in the waist pin. |The room was really not on a standard of 3 stars. It was just beside the "Fitness area" (Deco fitness tools, which are all broken)|If we would have had a possibility to escape, we would have done it. |The breakfast is also not on a 11 Euro Standard. Not much choice, thin coffee,..,|When we paid, they just wanted to charge us 30€ more, just because. Telling it, they were like....ah, right, the price is 55€ per night. |We've learned out of it and won't return or recommend this hotel to anybody.|Don't go...

The hotel personal is very nice, but the hotel itself is old and dirty. I had to change the room because the drain did not work, the room smelled like a soakaway, the toilet was dirty like from the last usage (even the toilet paper looked like somebody used it 10 minutes before) and the air condition did not work. The room change was quick and uncomplicated. The second room was smaller then the first one, but the aircondition worked and the drain worked everywhere. Even this room was dirty like the other one. There were hairs on the toilet, dirty shower .... everywhere you could see that it was not cleaned well for a long time.

The furnishing requires an intensive maintenance as silicone is very old, cable channel covers are missing, cables are coming out of the wall, lamps are falling off the wall, doors do not close very well.

In the complete room I found only 3 available sockets. One in the bathroom for a razor, one next to the bed and another one at the entrance.

Directly infront of the hotel is a free parking area reserved for the hotel and restaurant guests.

The pool was closed and I was not...

A bit out of the way in Privas, reception were helpful and check in was simple, rooms were dated though more so than any hotel on our trip. We didn't dine here so can't comment on the restaurant but the breakfast selection was superb.||No secure parking for motorcycles but it wasn't an area where we felt that would be an issue and it wasn't||Only real fly in the ointment was checkout which became a bit of a farce , not completely down to the hotel but not helped. drinks that were put onto the room had no room allocated on the bill, even though we were asked for a room number at the time. but rather than split the bill some of our party argued the toss (sorry about that, I wasn't one of them ) - if it had stated on the bill that room 84 had 2 drinks=12 euros for example then most of that could have been avoided -. But room allocation would be very helpful.||Hotel had a pool and large out door patio area, staff were excellent & although not right in the centre it was only a 5/10...
