Gîte de Chevreuse — Hotel in Rambouillet

Cozy, clean, tastefully decorated place in a small town of Chevreuse. We stayed one night.

🛏 Comfortable beds, 2 bedrooms, goood for family. Strange thing in the living room/open kitchen with central table and a bar table, there was no couch.

🌳 Gite Campagne overlooks a small garden, so you wake up with a lovely view over the trees and the sky.

🐈 We noticed two cats in the garden :)

🏡 The owner rents 4 apartments in the house and lives upstairs. Different from B&B, this is a vacation rental, so no breakfast, no tea, coffee, salt, pepper, etc in the kitchen, but there supermarkets near by. But all other necessities (soap, towels, t paper) are there. Also you have to clean up before u leave, otherwise there is extra charge.

🚉 20 min walk from RER, lovely promenade, but there were a lot of people 😷😐 and cars on the weekend.

🌲Forest is 15 min walk uphill, you can visit the castle walls on the left or turn right to be in a calm natural park. We spotted a few mushrooms.

Wonderful, clean & quiet apartments with everything we needed for all 12 of us (in 4 of the apartments) for a truly lovely stay. The owner/manager lives on site and is super friendly & helpful. It's also a great deal! The upper apt was the least equipped of the four gites (e.g, no oven or patio) so be clear about your needs when booking. Pour les quatre jours que nous avions projeté de passer dans la vallée de Chevreuse notre choix, à ma femme et moi-même, s'est porté sur le "gite chic" de Chevreuse sur foi de l'annonce internet et, dès notre arrivée, nous avons pu constater que la publicité n'était pas mensongère.||Les photos indiquaient un endroit plaisant, spacieux, bien meublé, avec une terrasse où l'on peut manger à l'extérieur et une pelouse extérieure avec transats pour y musarder. Tout correspondait scrupuleusement et nous avons effectué un séjour riche en visites avec, pour nous y reposer ce véritable havre de paix. Car aussi étrange que cela puisse paraître, tout en n'étant que légèrement en retrait de la rue de la Porte de Paris - très passante, on n'entendait quasiment rien de la circulation. D'où des nuits dans un calme absolu, un véritable rêve pour nous qui ne supportons guère les musiques fortes, les pétrolettes et autres manifestations sonores intempestives.||L'accueil du propriétaire est sympathique et il vient à votre secours si, patauds comme nous le sommes, on a problème technique.||Vraiment, un endroit parfait d'où rayonner et où se replier pour se reposer.
