I had booked 4 (four) rooms at this hotel for 2 nights. While en route to Versailles, before our scheduled arrival date at Residence Hotel Les Ducs De Chevreuse , we decided to stop by and spend the night there before meeting our friends. ||Cyril, the owner, was very nice. He checked us in, gave us the key. ||I tried to heat some water on the stove - the stove did not work and blew a fuse. ||I went into the mechanical room to flip the switch and when the electricity came back on, it blew out a light bulb. ||The bathroom door was filthy. It looked like mud had been smeared on the door....? ||In the morning when I showed Cyril the pillow case with hair on it from the previous night's guest, he argued with me telling me I could have called him at 11PM and had it changed. He assured me that it was indeed clean - the hair as well. I simply put it aside and laid my head on the other pillow which didn't look so bad. ||When I told him I was canceling the 4 rooms for 2 nights that I had booked thru booking, he said that I could so so but I needed to advise booking.com I spoke with the lovely French women at Booking whose English was impeccable. She told me I could not cancel the booking because he, Cyril, didn't allow such a thing. HOWEVER, HE SAID IT WAS OKAY FOR ME TO CANCEL AS I WAS LEAVING, as long as I notified booking. I was aware that I was not able to cancel but you would think booking would make some exceptions in cases that are just terrible, like this one. I do not recommend this place. I pretty much live in hotels and this one should not be open to the public. Shame on your Cyril for charging me after telling me that I could cancel. Not a good business practice. And as to booking.com, they need to be making some changes to their policies. Shame...

Read moreWhich exactly what this hotel is, away from all the hustle and business of Paris but close enough to get there with real ease, via the train.||||Rooms||This Hotel had apartments instead of rooms and because there were four of us staying we had an apartment for four. It was sizable perfect for us. Also, it was dog friendly so we brought out dogs down (more on the dogs later) which was also an advantage. The bathroom was modern and clean. We had a balcony which was an added plus, we got the last of the sun so was perfect. However, one problem we had was the electricity kept going off so this involved us fiddling around with the meter (which was not covered at all) every morning.||||Food||We didn't buy any food direct from the Hotel as we stayed in a self-service apartment which was a good thing but only one of the two hobs available worked which made it difficult to make lunch and tea.||||Staff||There only appeared to be one member of staff on reception but he was extremely helpful and very welcoming, a very nice fella.||||Location||The town in which it's located is beautiful and alos the Hotel itself has large grounds surronding it which were perfect for the dogs to run around in, beautiful location.||||Facilities||It lacked in facilities if I'm honest, lighting in the room was poor but if you ask for a lamp the man will be more than happy to bring you one up. As I said earlier, only one of the two hobs was working. The cold water wasn't cold at all, which again made our stay a little difficult.||||However, I did enjoy my stay and would go again, it's a nice place despite it's downfalls and would...
