This is a small, quiet, well maintained site which we enjoyed staying at and would return to. The couple who run the site were friendly and approachable and always happy to help (despite my abysmal attempts to communicate in French). The site is pedestrianized so there are no vehicles moving about (save for the little golf buggy that the owners use to help take your luggage from the car park to your accommodation) which meant it felt safe for the children to move around the site on their own. ||||The site has a pool which the children enjoyed, and the jacuzzi is a nice extra. The pool area was always clean and tidy and there were always loungers available. There is also a small launderette on the site (one washing machine and one tumble dryer). One day we went to use it but the machine was broken. The owner was apologetic and offered a refund for the token straightaway (other days it was working fine). On different days the site is visited by a different food supplier, we did try the wood-fired pizzas which were lovely.||||There are a number of beaches very close by. The closest, Plage du Moulin, is a short walk away, and was nice sandy beach with a restaurant and crêperie. The Plage des Godelins is very similar and is still walkable. The town if Bicnic was lovely to pootle around with a port, beach and cafes and restaurants. There is a Super-U supermarket (and drive-through Boulangerie) about a 5 minute drive away (heading south just before entering Bicnic) and a Lidl even closer in the opposite direction.||||We stayed in an Ecolodge, which had 1 double bedroom and 2 twin rooms. There were 4 of us so the children each had their own room. Despite being under capacity it did still feel a bit cramped at times (but maybe we need to travel lighter). The Ecolodge had a large terrace which was partially covered. There was a large table (seated 8) on the terrace and another more relaxed area. As it was the summer we ate all our meals outside, which made the table inside a bit redundant and it probably took up space unnecessarily. The kitchen had a large fridge and a small freezer, but cooking facilities comprised a 3 ring electric hob and a microwave. I felt that an oven would have been useful. ||||Overall we really enjoyed our stay and it was a great base for exploring the area and lovely beaches and coves...
Read moreThis is my third attempt at posting a review of this campsite, due to poor SFR coverage!! Glamping enter Terre et Mer is a great campsite we would thoroughly recommend it! It’s car free which is fab, it’s v safe for our kids to walk run and cycle about, and it’s not noisy! The car park is well located so no worries if need to pop back to get something, but you could also easily park your car and forget about it for the duration of your stay: there is a lovely pool, a bar, a little shop, the beach is a short walk away (need to cross one local road zebra crossing provides), the village has 2 boulangeries and several other shops. On site the chalets are well finished and nicely sited maximizing privacy. There is a covered deck on ours and I think nearly every other chalet. There is a little playground, friendly goats and hens, and a beautiful meadow across from our chalet, filled with wildflowers and butterflies! Highly...
Read moreAs a camping family with large tent (8mtrs x 3mtrs Outwell Norfolk lake) plenty of room on pitch and given good choice of pitches, we have visited a number of sites in Europe, no problems to report here, even had a plastic table and chairs supplied by the campsite, not forgetting fridge hire (that's a must for us) although most sites supply this service. There is a good size pool and a great beach only 10 min walk. The site is in a great location, quiet but not remote, facilities are good and staff are friendly. We would return to this site one day to explore this region some more. Not forgetting local food cooked on site a guy with cooked chickens on Sundays and last night (Monday) a guy doing Moules (cooked muscles) for about €6! Best I've tasted so far!! Also Pizzas and fish & chips a good selection if you don't fancy cooking! Visited end of July 2014 stayed...
