The castle is a pure gem, really well situated in a quiet park. We have chosen a room in the main building for two nights, without AC and accessible by stairs only, which was not a problem for us. Our room 212 was with a nice view facing the park, really large, with a beautiful wooden floor, the bathroom was clean and also perfect. The bed was large and comfortable with a good mattress. You can have a walk in the castle to visit the grand salon which is just amazing and a relaxing walk in the huge park. The price was quite attractive including buffet breakfast for 107€ per night. Just a suggestion to the owners regarding the breakfast: why not working with local providers, producers and bakery? I will be ready to pay more for a breakfast without frozen croissants and industrial pieces of cheese. You are in a such beautiful region with tasty foods, so it's a pity for not using them. You could propose bibeleskaes yogurts instead of regular ones, local sausages instead of industrial hams, local apple juices instead of tasteless and over sweet juices or homemade kougelhopf. Despite this, we have had a nice stay and I recommend this hotel to anyone interested in a...
Read moreLocation is quiet and 15 min to centre by taxi. These are about €25/30 one way but parking in the centre is not so good so we used taxis for convenience. ||These Chateau is nice and in a park so lovely walks if you want. The Chateau had no lunch and dinner facilities when we went , but breakfast is very good. If you want to eat there are restaurants in the area in easy walking distance. ||If you have problems climbing stairs then make sure you book ground floor room if you can as stairs are steep and in a circle so tight. The rooms are spacious and clean with a huge comfortable bed. The toilet flush can be problematic as expected in a building this age but the shower has good water pressure so very refreshing after a hard days exploring. ||Then there is the Staff !!! I have travelled extensively around the world and I have to say the staff are the most helpful courteous team that I have had the pleasure of meeting in a long time. The reception staff need an extra shout out as they go above and beyond the call of duty. ||All in all I would recommend a stay at the Chateau and Strasbourg is a great place to visit....
Read moreAmazing hotel. This Chateau is in a great location away from busy cities and in a park with many open acres nearby for walking. The rooms were nice, although our room was in a side building not the main Chateau. There are some nice historic rooms in the main Chateau with a piano in the lounge. There is a restaurant and bar adjacent with a volleyball sand court, where families go to lounge, have snacks/ice cream and drink. There is free parking for guests at the hotel and if you have a car and plan to spend time in Strasbourg, it is best to drive a mile and park at the tram (city train) pickup. You can leave your car there all day and the total price to park and bring your family/friends on the train is only around four Euro's for your whole car of people. This will save you money and time versus finding and paying for expensive parking in the city. There are some good restaurants nearby in the area of Robertsau. We ate at Au Coq Blanc which was very delicious. Overall, you cannot go wrong staying here as it is a great atmosphere...
