This is a lovely hotel that appears to be in the back of beyond. It is reached by a little lane that meanders for almost two miles through vineyards and fields. The hotel is friendly, all the staff do there best to please. Our room was spotless with a comfortable bed, the shower was adequate though the toilet was rather close to the wall requiring one to adopt an unusual position when on "the throne" to avoid banging ones knees against said wall. |There are spectacular views from the terrace and I believe also from a number of rooms, (though not ours)|The buffet breakfast is ok but rather expensive. |The hotel does have its own restaurant but on the night we used it there was what appeared to be a large firms outing so we did not see a full menu, however what we had was fine. |Across the road is an Auberge offering incredible food that would not be out of place in Paris or London, sadly with prices to match. (This however is for another separate review).|A point to bear in mind, even though the hotel appears to be in the middle of nowhere, the area with its auberge, wine cave, camper van park, many miles of beautiful walking trails, is well known to local people who on a nice weekend will arrive in their droves, even though there is likely to be room in the hotel you may find that some or all of its parking spaces are occupied by the day trippers cars.|Fortunately we have a 4x4 and parked in the adjacent vineyard until the sun went down and most folks went home, leaving us a hotel parking place.|To sum up, a pleasant hotel with great walks all around it, a super restaurant and a wine cave across the road, a great place to chill out (Except maybe on a sunny weekend) but with little else in the area to do.|We hope to return...
Read moreWe booked a room for ourselves and our 20 month old child and the hotel provided a cot for him. However when we checked out they charged us extra for the baby. The price for 1 person is the same as for 2, but if you have a baby its extra. I have stayed in hotels all around the world and I have never been charged extra for a baby. To top it all off my wife took our son to breakfast and gave him some of the yogurt she was eating. The staff then charged her the full €11 for another breakfast for my son. The rooms are nice enough but the hotel is undergoing some refurbishment and all the common areas are dark and gloomy.|On a positive note there is the opportunity to taste wine right next to the hotel. The location is very scenic probably better in spring/summer when there is growth...
Read moreRooms are disappointing, it’s not posted coz it’s too small and there’s some smell. Bathroom is also two, one for shower and one to deposit. there is no sink in the deposit area so you can’t clean yourself after. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED TO ANY ASIANS since we use water to clean our bum and not tissue. Shower room is a little bigger, almost half of the room, doesn’t make any sense at all, and no doors so when you shower, water is everywhere and everything is just a huge mess. Reception people are snob, they don’t really care much about their guest. beautiful location but not worth the price, don’t recommend anyone coming here unless you have no choice.
