Mountain Voyages Chalet holidays — Hotel in Thonon-les-Bains

Our third stay at Mountain Voyages with Leo and Lian in as many years and the week was absolutely outstanding as always.

What makes a stay at the chalet so exemplary are Leo and Lian themselves, who are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and they always go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable and get the most from their holiday, whether it be the private shuttles to the slopes, or organising massages, arranging ski hire swaps or recommending places to ski or ski lessons. Leo and Lian do all of this with a smile and in a relaxed, friendly and unimposing manner, which we find ideal and makes you feel very at home. This year Leo and Lian took us to ski the "Loop" (even though it was their day off) -- it was great day and certainly very memorable with lots of laughs.

The chalet itself is lovely -- very comfortable, cosy and clean with lots of mountain ambience. The hot tub is very welcoming after a long day on the slopes, and we made full use of the various games in the evenings.

Another huge positive is the amazing food! Whether it be canapes before a lovely three course meal plus cheese (my favourite is Brazilian night) paired with great wine;the homemade cakes on your return from the slopes; or the cooked breakfast of eggs florentine or eggs and bacon each morning. Be warned -- your waistline will almost certainly get bigger during a stay here!

Niko is also a charming impeccably behaved addition to the team and we loved making friends with him ; )

Just got back from a great stay with Leo and Lian.||Definitely the best chalet I have stayed in and easily the best food.||||Everything was pretty much perfect and the chalet is set in beautiful Montriond with great views across to nearby Morzine. Montriond is a great place to stay. ||||Some things that were important to me:||- Communication before and during stay was spot on||- Organisation & information. Punctuality for lift shuttles, meal times, transfers and ski hire were perfect. Incidentally, the ski company (Ski Mobile) they use offer a superb service with excellent quality equipment. ||- Food quality. Lots of it is free range, organic and in line with Lian and Leo's environmentally conscious values. The menu was inventive and of course the dishes very tasty. ||- Cleanliness. The chalet is spotless||- Friendliness. Last but not least Leo and Lian are a lovely couple. Great fun and super friendly as is their little friend Nico their impeccably well behaved dog who sometimes makes an appearance. I should point out here that Lian and Leo are extremely responsible and check with guests before introducing you to Nico.||||I cannot recommend Mountain Voyages...

Thank you Lian & Leo for making our skiing holiday absolutely fabulous.||||We are 3 families, who every year go on skiing holiday together, in the past we have rented other cottages and stayed in hotels, but after having stayed at Lian & Leo's cartered chalet the bar has really been raised. This has been an absolutely amazing holiday in all aspects. ||The chalet was cosy and clean, the food was fabulous and Lian and Leo did all they could to make our stay a great experience - they even made a special cake for one of the guests as we celebrated her birthday during the stay. ||The jacuzzi has a fantastic view of the valley and it is a great place to relax and enjoy a glass of bubbles.||There is a selection of games at the cottage, which the teenagers enjoyed playing in the evenings. ||||Leo, promise me the Pasta starter with mushroom sauce will be on the menu next...
