This property is a MVC property and a beautiful one at that. Note that if you are a Bonvoy elite you DO NOT get any privileges at this property b/c it is a vacation club property.
This Marriott is located in the suburbs of Paris, about 35 km/50 min drive from CDG or nearly the same from central Paris. It is accessible from CDG via the TGV train (a 10 min trip at 17,50€ OW) to the Disneyland Paris train/bus station and a 9€ Uber/taxi ride to the property (it is NOT within walking distance from the station). From Paris you take the RER A train (red line) to the same Disneyland Paris station for around 8€. There is also the Magical Shuttle bus from CDG to the train station for 23€ OW. If you decide to take an Uber it will be about 50€ from CDG, and maybe 75€ from Paris
This Marriott consists of what appears to be mostly 2-story townhouses in multiple buildings in a near rural setting within a gated compound. It looks like it is its own French village, with winding paths and ponds/lakes throughout. The grounds are beautiful. Our townhouse was indeed 2 stories. The first floor had a half bathroom, a small kitchen that was fully equipped (with coffee for 2-3 mornings), a washer & dryer (with detergent for a few loads!) and a large living room/dining room. There were French doors that opened to a small patio with seating outside that was part of a communal "backyard". Our property backed up to a pond and from the property map it appears that most have a water feature in the rear as well. The (narrow-ish) stairs lead up to a master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom (a large tub/shower, 2-sink vanity, and a wc with toilet and bidet behind its own door). The 2nd bedroom consisted of 2 full beds that were pushed together. Finally, there was a full bathroom in the hallway. Note - in both full bathrooms there is quite a high step-up to get into the tub (the master was around 24", the hallway maybe 18") so keep that in mind if you or your guests are not as able bodied as needed to enter/exit the tub, especially with wet feet. The townhouse was conservatively decorated and had a nice "homey" feeling. It was clean, there were no odors or stains, and was in very good condition. The building is solid - it felt like poured concrete, even the staircase was solid. This provided great soundproofing but was also harder on the feet to walk, I suggest slippers to cushion your steps. Flat screen Tvs were located in both bedrooms and a larger one was placed in the living room. However, channel selection was weak with only a handful in total.
There is 1 restaurant/bar onsite, the LeBistro Bar. I ordered late from the it one evening. The pizza was good (medium sized) but their chicken was dry and not fresh tasting side. YMMV. A market in which to stock up on groceries is also located on the property. However, for longer stays, I'd suggest going to local markets for a larger variety and to save €€ as well. Other amenities, which we didn't use, include a fitness center, indoor pool (the main outdoor pool was closed for the season), bicycle rentals, and movie theatre.
If you plan on visiting Disneyland Paris and do not wish to drive there yourself, a shuttle is available but it will cost you 3,90€ round trip per person. It leaves roughly every 40 minutes. The Dec schedule lists the earliest pickup at 8:50 and the latest return as 23:15 (Saturdays) and 22:15 (Sunday).
Overall the Marriott Village d'Ile-de-France is a pleasant property that recreates a small French village setting amongst the townhomes that you rent. They are spacious, and touches such as the washer/dryer are excellent for travelers who wish to leave back for home with a suitcase of clean clothes or who want to pack less knowing they can wash their clothes in their own townhouse. The service was on point, very accommodating and friendly. I plan on visiting again in the spring or early summer, when the weather is more pleasant and when I can fully appreciate the property's...
Read moreMarriott's Village d'ile-de-France offers a family-friendly vacation experience near Disneyland Paris, boasting extraordinary service and a range of amenities for both parents and children. While there are certainly many pros to this resort, a few cons deserve consideration before booking your stay.
PROS:
Exceptional Service: One of the standout features of this resort is its extraordinary service. The staff is responsive and attentive, readily addressing guest requests. From prompt deliveries of requested items like a grill grid, knife, and cutting board to a quick resolution of concerns, the service truly elevates the experience.
Impeccable Cleanliness: The resort's dedication to cleanliness is evident throughout the property. Housekeeping maintains the villas and common areas to a high standard. Pristine streets, walkways, and well-maintained plants contribute to a visually appealing environment.
Family-Friendly Amenities: Ideal for families with children and infants, the resort provides a range of amenities catering to younger guests. From on-site steam baths, saunas, and Jacuzzis to a baby pool, parents can relax while children play in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Convenient Shuttle Service: The on-time shuttle service to Disneyland Paris is a convenience that families will greatly appreciate. Easy access to the park enhances the overall vacation experience.
Marketplace Voucher: Attending a marketing meeting may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the incentive of a 200 Euro voucher for the resort's restaurant and marketplace is a nice touch. This gives guests the chance to explore various dining options on the property.
CONS:
Mixed Culinary Experience: While some dishes, like the lamb shank and chicken tenders, are top-notch, the overall dining experience leaves something to be desired. Inconsistencies in taste and execution were noted, particularly with pastas and pizzas. The dining experience could benefit from more culinary passion.
Transportation and Guest Relations Issues: A reported issue with the Disneyland Shuttle Bus's driver refusing to accommodate strollers was an unfortunate experience for several guests. The front desk's response to this issue, with no follow-up, raises concerns about guest relations and problem resolution.
Unheated Pools: The absence of heated pools, both inside and outside, might disappoint families, especially those with infants. Cold water temperatures, even during warmer weather, can hinder a comfortable and enjoyable swimming experience.
Outdated Villas: Despite the resort's appeal, some aspects show signs of aging. Outdated villa furnishings and a touch of mold in the bathroom are areas that management should address for a more satisfying stay.
Noisy Stairs: The wooden stairs in the villas create a disturbance, particularly at night. Quieter alternatives or soundproofing measures could alleviate disruptions for families with sleeping children.
In conclusion, Marriott's Village d'ile-de-France presents a strong case for families seeking a well-equipped vacation resort near Disneyland Paris. The exceptional service and family-friendly amenities contribute to a positive experience. However, improvements in culinary offerings, guest relations, pool temperature, villa maintenance, and noise reduction are areas that the resort could focus on to create an even more...
Read moreWe arrived to Marriott's Village d'ile-de-France early via the supersonic Eurostar. Upon driving onto the property one is reminded of what they have agreed to. The quintessential French Countryside experience. The weather was blissful and restful and the water fountains helped us sleep so deeply. Front desk mastery was performed by Cecilia. She gave an incredible overview of resort and breakdown of what to expect within this amazing property. Among three species of water fowl ( Including Canadian Geese ) there a tribute to Claude Monet complete with statue. The Monet Garden has been designed to tribute him and reads as a true impressionist painting complete with overgrown bridge just like his signature paintings. There is the perfect amount of alge in the small pond that mimics the impressionist’s burst strokes. It’s beautiful to walk thru this garden and enjoy actually being ‘inside’ one of Claude Monet’s inspirations. The Le Bistro in the lobby has a phenomenal lunch menu until about 2pm and then opens back up for Dinner. Sabawoon was such a great server and very welcoming during our first lunch at the property. I recommend the pasta with white cheese sauce or the cheese pizza as a nice welcome meal for you. Upon being granted early our room ( a large studio in building 4500 ) We discovered it looks over Le Lac and the ducks were amazing to be with a large family of Canadian geese ‘honking’ to welcome us. This bedding is to die for a some of the best sheets and pillows I have ever experienced. We slept deeply here in the room and really loved waking up to a peace that only the French Countryside can provide. It was wonderful to also request white robes to lounge in and enjoy. Back at Le Bistro Bar the very fun and kind Dragana was amazing to visit with each night of our stay and was well versed at handling all sorts of crowds and guests no matter what. We looked forward to our times here at the bar after our days in the Parks. This is also a Gin Bar with many types of gin and goblet like glassware to honor these incredible drinks in. The front desk staff was incredible and like Cecilia the very kind and very articulate Sitharan helped me with booking the transit between the hotel and Disneyland Paris. Here is my concern and area for improvement. This tram takes a picking up break from from 20:00 to 21:10 - this one hour and 10 minute break is hurtful to those who are looking to leave the park early and needs at least two or three other pick up times when crowds are wanting to exit the park and waiting. Many of the patrons were forced to take Ubers and got angrier to pay high Taxi costs . Also in perfect transparency, the lobby bar closes early at 22:00 and the marketplace minutes afterwards. So if one needs a night cap or two this put pressure on the bar staff such as the kind Sabawoon and wonderful Dragana. Upon leaving I was impressed with Ceclia once again and she remembered our itinerary and wished us Bon Voyage for our travel day. Incredible to remember us after checking in so many people at this busy property. I look forward to booking a stay again here and even longer for the fabulous sheets alone! Thank you everyone, you made our stay amazingly...
