This was a drop by stay for one night arriving late and going very early in the morning.||||We wanted a place that is pet friendly as we had the family dog with us. However traveling in the height of summer the heat was unbearable. No air conditioning in the room which meant we had to have the windows open all the time even at night! Feeling for our dog we even took him the the local restaurant with us as we didn't want to leave him alone in that none air conditioned room.||||Personally they had too much furniture in the room with a double bed, a full sized office desk and chair it was a bit of a squeeze with two adults and a fully grown labordour! But a good sized bathroom with a step in shower, sink and toilet, felt there was more room in the bathroom than the bedroom.||||Our room looked straight onto the car park and having the window open all night didn't feel safe as anyone could climb through the window, but that was the only way to get air. Which in turn let the mosquitoes in! Me and my partner was bitten so many times that night!||||The decor isn't very appealing with concrete walls, but it had a decent sized wardrobe with a place to hang some clothes. However it was behind the door so not easy to get to as the door swung open inside the room rather than away.||||The lack of air-conditioning and the safety really let this place down, as it was pet friendly i wouldn't take my pet there again will be too hot!||||On a plus the staff are really nice and friendly, welcomed you with a warm nature. And helped when we asked any questions.||||I would visit Tours again but...
Read moreWe used this as a base to visit the chateaux. It's in a quiet neighborhood. There's not much to walk to except the Italian place. But it's a good area. The room was nice with a beautiful view of the courtyard with it's beautiful flowers. The manager spoke decent English which is always nice. The only negative was a dark, musty hallway that we had to walk down to get to our room. This was very very unsettling for my wife, and made it hard for her to enjoy the place. But it really wasn't so bad. The breakfast was lovely on the garden patio. |I would recommend staying here if you want to be in town. It would be pretty interesting, though, to stay in one of the little villages near the chateaus.||The CABBEN SCONCE rating is meant to be a consistent rating system, based on the idea that a hotel really needs just a few things to be good. Read moreHad booked this hotel for three nights between 1/11-4/11/19 and was travelling from Amiens to Tours. Unfortunately the check in window is very tourist unfriendly being from 4.30 -7.30pm only. If you were to arrive after that time you are advised to contact the hotel. When it became clear that we would arrive in Tours until 9pm we sent an email to Natasha before 7.30pm as directed. When we arrived at 9pm the hotel lobby was in darkness, the doors were locked and we had received no response to our email so basically we had no accommodation for the night. I quickly located a hotel and booked through Booking.com. The astonishing thing was that the next day still had no contact from the hotel or the day after so for communication I have to rate this hotel as a ZERO. The only saving grace for us was the fact that we had not paid any monies for the accommodation before arrival so did not have to go through the painful experience of getting any...
