We had a quiet room at the back which overlooked some greenery. We liked that it was reasonably tidy (there were plastic bottles and some rubbish, but not as many weeds as would be expected in a back location). We appreciated that families with children are kept together at the back on the ground floor. ||||The hotel is in decent condition. It is alongside a petrol station so there is an all day/late night shop handy for essentials including sandwiches and beer. A five minute drive away is a large E.Leclerc and a McDonalds. There is a good pizza place in Saint Cyr. The train station is a seven minute walk with regular trains to Versailles and Paris (Eiffel Tower in 30 minutes). ||||The Bois de Boulogne (which has all day free parking) is 20 minutes drive, with another 20 minutes pleasant walking to the Eiffel Tower. Just make sure you get back to your car before dark, unless you are happy to witness the naughty goings on! ||||We were a little surprised that the staff had so little English. Normally at an Ibis the staff are fluent. Luckily my wife is French so was able to translate for me. Smokers (including staff) simply stand at an open door by the breakfast room, so cigarette smoke drifts in. Staff should be encouraged to close the door when they and/or guests are smoking nearby outside. There is the bare minimum of soap and shower gel. If you like a decent amount, remember to bring your own. ||||We booked at extra night, and then added four hours to the check out time on the last day (5 Euros extra per two hours). This meant we had to have three different codes to our room. The software could be written to allow customers who add to their stay to keep the...
Read moreStayed here to enable an early start for visiting Versailles the next day. Conveniently situated, only a few minutes by car from the Palace of Versailles. Hotel situated at the side of a garage so convenient for fuel and a small shop of water, snacks etc. Also only a few minutes drive to an amazing new shopping centre with lots of shops, restaurants and a huge Carrefore supermarket.||||||Hotel was clean and comfortable as was the bedroom. Room was as you would expect from a budget chain hotel: small and compact but perfect for our one night stop. Breakfast was booked in advance so no problems with checking in and the man on reception was happy to try and speak a little English to help out our somewhat poor French. Breakfast was self serve, eat as much as you want, fresh, tasty and plentiful; thoroughly enjoyed mine.||||However unfortunately I do have one warning for anyone thinking of staying here! NO AIR CONDITIONING. Which I must confess was a huge disappointment, this was the 3rd budget hotel we had stayed in this August on our travels and it was the ONLY one not to have air conditioning which was much needed the night we stopped. We did a room on the side of the hotel so there was not much road noise but having started to get bitten by annoying bugs, we were forced to close the window and sweat the night out!||||For the price we paid, we were overall,l very happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel for a...
Read moreVery basic, but clen with comfy bed, 4 pillows, plenty hot water. Minimal toiletries ( hand dispenser at sink and bath which I do not like) ||Nice bath, but shower head not fixed at head height so couldn't have a shower.|| Cleaning a bit iffy all round the hotel- towels replaced even though we had hung them up ( not eco friendly) and only replaced with 1 of each.|| Breakfast basic continental - constantly replenished quickly as things ran out ( was included for us, but wouldn't have paid E13 for it) -everything you would normally get at basic budget hotel.|| Dinner was average and overpriced - No dinner on Sun night which we were not told about.|| Desk, bar, restaurant and housekeeping all covered by the same 2 or 3 people it seems Overall, fine for Budget price quoted on search engines, but not worth the E130+ we paid ( but it was Ryder cup weekend) ||Would stay here again if it was local to something else we wanted to do if the price was more reasonable - would not pay those...
