Full review - in detail Must read before visiting!
This hotel estate was amazing. The estate is fitted with small details from art on the walls to the lobby bar having loads of games to play. The pools were perfect, the amount of sunbeds was generous with the area trapping lots of heat to really push that holiday relaxing vibe.
The gym equipment and whole 5th floor were fitted with all the equipment you will need and more. The sauna is very spacious and holds great views. The steam room was perfect also. The rooftop pool was very cold, which was a great contrast to the 32°+ on the outside. Many places for shade also if you don't like full sun. Great views of sunrise/sunset too.
The ground pool + tennis facilities: Perfect + more. The pool offers a half-and-half mix of lane swimming and relaxing lounge side with generous views of the surrounding mountains. The tennis courts were maintained well, and the lady at the desk walked us through the whole process.
My experience: The lobby area was perfectly fitted for what it's used for. The lady on the desk was extremely helpful throughout our stay with amazing training + great English. I wasn't able to get her name but she had white/blonde hair. The baggage help was great too and took our luggage to our rooms very quickly, and was also patient as we were checking into 3 rooms.
The rooms: Rooms were amazing, one had views of the vineyard, others had a view of the mountain range! The balconies offered a scenic view with a bench to sit on. The bathrooms were designed well, and the soap/shampoo was great as always from Radisson Collection. Beds were comfortable, but I would have loved a firmer pillow. Also, the mini fridge was stocked to the brim with their company's partners. I would have wished to have a little less product placement in order to fit my items in.
The breakfast: Great options. And you are able to order to your preferences — would recommend pancakes and the avocado toast. Coffee was nice too! Only wish for milk alternatives and a cereal selection. But loved the assortment of pastries.
Nearby activities: We had the luxury of using most of the opportunities presented to us. From using the hotel’s bikes to the tennis courts, loads were on offer. For a fee, you were granted the opportunity to create Georgian delicacies such as khinkali and khachapuri. We had a masterclass for 4 of us and were given an English translator to indirectly speak to the chefs of the 5-star restaurant in which this experience is held. We were also given plentiful amounts of food to go with our creations. Would recommend going to do this on an empty stomach!
Another experience we took part in was a private tour + wine tasting afternoon. We did this in sequence with our food-making masterclass. We were first brought on a tour of the estate on a nice golf-style cart. Our amazing tour guide explained the history of the estate. Then we went to the vineyard for amazing photos and views. We also learned how to create, store, and distribute wine from farm to table — which was a fascinating experience. All was explained clearly and in wonderful English. Our thanks to our wonderful sommelier who was very experienced and taught us the world of wine!
We ended the tour in the wine cellar that has the first bottle of wine ever bottled in Georgia (1841) and the oldest one in Georgia from Poland (1804). The wine tasting was great also and was led by our sommelier with great accuracy. We very much enjoyed the rosé wine!
Thank you so much Radisson Collection Hotels for this unique and impactful experience. I hope to those who read my review that they will get great knowledge of the things on offer.
All the best...
Read moreThe first thing that greets you at this amazing hotel is the security, who tell you that you can't leave your car at the entrance for check-in because, apparently, only some select guests can park there. You, having paid over $300 per night, have to park farther away and carry your luggage in the heat.
Next, there's a queue at registration. Only three staff are working, and one desk is reserved for VIPs, reminiscent of Wizz Air, where you pay extra to board faster. It's as if the hotel is unaware that guests might arrive at 3 PM and could not plan for this, adding more staff for quicker check-ins.
After a 30-minute wait, you finally reach check-in. A tired receptionist asks you to fill out a form to receive spam from Radisson and requests an extra 9 GEL since you paid in dollars, even printing an invoice for this.
Finally, you get your key and reach your room. Time to eat.
The restaurants here are incredibly beautiful, and the surroundings are truly relaxing. This is especially important when you see the prices on the menu. There’s nothing better than buying a bottle of Tsinandali for 130 GEL, being in the heart of Georgian winemaking and at a hotel that produces its own wine. But, somehow, a brilliant marketer decided that selling this wine at the restaurant for 10 times its price was a great idea. I hope they get a raise for that.
If, for some reason, you decide that wine is not for you, you can order a cup of tea by the pool. I’m not sure why you’d want tea, but they’ll serve you hot water and basic tea for 13 GEL, or fries for 27 GEL.
If you decide not to buy anything and just want to enjoy the hotel by the pool, you can use the two pools shared between two hotels. Because of this, there will be so many people that you’ll feel like you’re in Anapa. If you come to the pool at noon, you won’t find a free sunbed, let alone an umbrella. It seems a 5-star hotel's budget can’t cover enough sunbeds.
On the plus side, the hotel cares about the environment, giving you towels that should have been recycled five years ago. Their commitment to a zero-carbon footprint means towels are only replaced when they’re in threads. This is commendable but inconvenient.
I don’t want my story to deter you from visiting this hotel, as it truly has its positives: an incredibly beautiful area and a great attitude towards local dogs, which you can feed at breakfast. This is truly valuable and only evokes positive emotions. Perhaps, all the hotel's issues are due to poor management, underpaid staff, and a misunderstanding of what it means to be a 5-star hotel. No 5-star hotel should personally check the minibar before your departure. Yet, an employee will knock to ensure you didn’t steal or drink a 10-GEL Coke, implying that stealing drinks is your plan when paying $300 per night. They might as well check guests’ bags for stolen towels, possibly increasing the...
Read moreWe stayed at tsinandali estate for 5 days from the 1st to 6th of October. We are a young couple with a baby of 2years. My wife was 5 months pregnant at that time. We booked originally the junior suite but upgraded to the best suite before reaching the hotel few days before. (this is the best room and most expensive one: in total for the room it was 2873 EUR so 575 EUR per night). All that to say that we had expectations on the service to match the cost...however it hasn't been up to expectations. The estate is beautiful, the outdoor and indoor facilities of the domain are awesome, no complains about that. But however the service does not follow. First of all, I found the suite rather small for this price. Anyway, the poor experiences starts off when we arrived on the 1st Oct afternoon, after 2h30 drive from Tbilisi. No vallet /bell boy came to help us with the luggages or the car we had to explicitly request help, on the other hand, we were promptly asked to move the car from the entrance because of some events (others guests needing the space). I was supprised that they did not offer these services naturally. Then we were told at the reception that the room wasn't ready and have a walk and wait for an hour. We went to the restaurant with our 2Y old baby only to find out more than 2h later that the room wasn't ready yet. Finally we were given a standard room to wait...no update was given, I had to go multiple times to the reception and call for updates. A the end the room was given very late past 7pm and thankfully the upgrade was not charged for the 1st night as a gesture however the damage was done. The poor experience continues then. Having to change room with a baby close to sleeping time etc..when we finnaly got the room, the wooden baby crib was broken (the baby could arm himself with the broken arms of the crib but apparently the staff didn't bother to check.). It needed to be changed, it was yet already near time to sleep for our baby. we had to ask for additional towel for the baby every single day because they were not planned and towels were removed during daily cleaning and replaced only by 2 big towels. The staff/hotel management appeared very cheap with the toiletries and amenities, as they would only change it if you utilise it fully (however remember that we are still paying 575 EUR a night remember..), there was one day especially when the room was not vaccum on the Oct 4th, it was obvious because the baby had drop biscuits the day before... I just don't understand how can this be possible on a suite, the best suite? This was what trigger ma discussion with the reception and the manager and although they finally cleaned the room afterwards and addressed our demands, yet again the damage was already done in a sense that our experience was tarnished. Eventually to cut it short, no further compensation /commercial gesture...
