Maia Guesthouse — Hotel in Stepantsminda

This establishment was so bad I don't know where to start. If you need to save money, ok, but there is so much wrong starting with the host Maia...rude, arrogant and doesn't care at all about her guests. The rooms are ancient with a bad odour and the beds are terrible with very old sheets as are the towels that date at least twenty years....bad. The bathroom has a bathtub which is not secured to anything so it might tip over and a toilet seat that is too small for the actual toilet. There is a kettle for hot water but nowhere to plug it in other than in the bathroom as in the room the plug sockets are too high up the wall. Our final day we couldn't get the key out of the door and of course Maia didn't care she just said to put a chair in front when going out....nuts! In summary this person should not be in the guest house business it was horrible. Lastly there is a beautiful dog who never gets to go out and the family don't...

Horrible place. Rooms are very cold during the night, bathroom has open Window 24/7 - impossible to take a shower with 15 Degree C in the evening, in the morning closer to 11 degree Celsius- same as outside. No cleaning products, 20years old small towels(1 per person), No access to the kitchen, you have to pass by huge 60+kg aggressive dog behind fence smaller than him-barking and jumping ( life threatening). You could hear breath of other guests from another rooms- completely No sound proof rooms. After asking owner about turning on the heating she become very rude and agressive and just left. We paid for 3 nights and escaped after 2 nights with sore throat...

Maia is a friendly host who has a nice house with a very nice view in Gergeti village. In our double room it was very cold, the bed was very uncomfortable as she for some reason put a wollen blanket on top of the mattress. She really needs to fix her shower though, as you can only choose between super hot or super cold water. Other than that this guesthouse was good. Clean with a good location. You get what...
