What we liked: We took a double room with Balcony. Room 6 and 7 has best views. The room was at the front of the hotel and we had the view of Mt.Kazbeg and Gergeti Trinity Church from our balcony. The room has a private bathroom with toiletries. The room had coat hangers, hair dryer, comfortable sheets And pillows. The room had a heater, shelfs and two ottomans. We planned for 2 and stayed 3 nights here. The breakfast is excellent. It includes omelet, bread, cheese, butter, jam/honey and a freshly baked pizza! The hosts Ma'ia and Zwiadi were sweet and were welcoming. They don't speak English but Google translate is sufficient to communicate. They took care of laundry upon request. The towels were changed after 2nd day. You can message another host on WhatsApp and he replies in English and is responsive. The place is reachable easily. There is private parking inside the property. There's hot water and tea available 24/7 and kitchen is accessible but not sure if we can cook. The terrace has a wonderful 360 degree mountain view. There was hot water all the time in the bathroom. There was a 2-3hr power outage but it was all over Kazbegi. They accept only cash. Overall we liked the hosts, the vibe of this hotel had a great pleasant stay in Horizon hotel. We may visit again in Summer.
What we didn't like: We chose a room (Room 7) for the view and it had a bed with it's springs broken on one side of the bed. Nothing was done by the host on this even upon request. That might be because the other rooms were booked. But they should replace the mattress as it's uncomfortable to sleep. Also, when we wanted to extend our stay for a day, the host who was messaging on WhatsApp did agree to extend but he did not extend it on booking and did not agree to it. We wanted some credits in booking but lost it because of this. In winter, the heater in the room is hardly sufficient because the cold comes in from the balcony glass and at night the warmth in the room reduces. The bathroom and balcony door did close completely but had no locks. The room upstairs has stairs and if you have heavy luggage it may not be easy to carry...
Read moreFamily of five had the best experience in Hotel Horizon, the fact that we fell in love so easily in Kazbegi as this is one of the best spot in Georgia, but what was amazingly added in this great place is the hotel and the hosts itself. ||||You can view God's wonderful creation in all angles from the roof top balcony, the mountains are as if just an inch reach, we were able to watch closely the sunset while fully wrapped in blanket. ||||The rooms are spacious with balcony and the bed is comfortable. My little one even have her own small bed :) ||||The hosts welcome us as if we are family and upon leaving they are even send us till the gate with a warmth hug and bid goodbye before getting in the car. ||||We have stayed in multiple hotels while in Georgia and I can say that Horizon do have one of the best breakfast. It was set completely on our table. They even cooked extra sausages when they saw that my kids love them. ||||Don't care whether they don't speak English well or not at all, there are other forms of communication we made that they are beyond words! ||||I cant say about value for money as our agent booked this for us, but in the internet price is really relatively low compared to the place and services they can offer. ||||Hotel Horizon is definitely highly recommended. Hope we can come back soon to this...
Read moreI'd be apprehensive when I see all 5-star reviews in a listing but this one checks all the right boxes.
Georgian hospitality at its finest. We stayed here in March 2023 for 2 nights as a family of 4. We practically had the entire hotel to ourselves due to the low winter season.
The hotel had the smoothest check-in and check-out ever. I don't even know if I should call it that because if didn't feel like I'm coming to a hotel, just a home away from home.
The warmth rendered by the hosts is perhaps unmatched. Don't miss the breakfast the host, Maya, cooks. The best pizza and khachapuri I've had in Georgia. She even made sure she cooked great vegetarian food for us.
For Indians and middle east folks, the hotel has a shower jet that can double up as a shattaf/jet, so you don't have to rely on toilet papers.
Rooms are facing either side of the town, but the BEST view is from the terrace. 360 degree view of the town guaranteed.
Again, I can't stress enough how sweet the hosts are. Don't think for a second before...
